Officer Authorized to Take and Receive Statutory Declarations

PURSUANT to the authority conferred upon me by section 301 of the Justices of the Peace Act, 1927, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby notify and declare that David Elms Hird, being an officer in the service of the Crown holding the office of Chief Survey Draughtsman, Lands and Survey Department, at Auckland, is authorized to take and receive statutory declarations under section 301 of the Justices of the Peace Act, 1927.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 26th day of October, 1950.

Authorizing Erection of a Public Hall on Mossburn War Memorial Park Domain, Southland Land District

IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred upon me by subsection (1) (d) of section 52 of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby authorize the Mossburn War Memorial Park Domain Board to erect a public hall on that portion of the Mossburn War Memorial Park Domain under its control described in the Schedule hereto.
SCHEDULE
SOUTHLAND LAND DISTRICT.—PORTION OF MOSSBURN WAR MEMORIAL PARK DOMAIN
ALL that area containing by admeasurement 1 rood 15 perches, more or less, being Lot 1, Block VII, on a plan deposited in the Land Registry Office at Invercargill under No. 192, being part Section 102, Block I, Taringatura Survey District. As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 1/1178, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon edged red.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 26th day of October, 1950.

Notice of Intention to Issue an Order in Council Revoking the Reservation Over Portions of the Winton Domain, Southland Land District
B. C. FREYBERG, Governor-General
WHEREAS by section 41 of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928 (hereinafter referred to as the said Act), it is provided that the Governor-General may from time to time by Order in Council, but subject to compliance with the requirements of subsection (2) of section 7 of the said Act, declare that the land comprised in a public domain or part thereof shall cease to be subject to Part II of the said Act ; and, further, may declare either that such land shall be a public reserve for the purposes of Part I of the said Act, or Crown land available for disposal by way of sale for cash under the Land Act, 1948 :
And whereas the lands described in the Schedule hereto are portions of the Winton Domain but are not required for domain purposes, and it is expedient to revoke the reservation over the said lands :
Now, therefore, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby give notice, pursuant to subsection (2) of section 7 of the said Act, that it is my intention to issue an Order in Council under the provisions of section 41 of the said Act declaring that the portions of the Winton Domain described in the Schedule hereto shall cease to be subject to Part II of the said Act, and shall be deemed to be Crown lands available for disposal by way of sale for cash under the Land Act, 1948.

Also Sections 1 and 24, Block XVIII, Town of Winton : Area, 2 roods, more or less.

Notice of Intention to Issue an Order in Council Revoking the Reservation for Recreation Purposes over a Reserve in the City of Christchurch, Canterbury Land District

WHEREAS by subsection (1) (b) of section 7 of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928 (hereinafter referred to as the said Act), it is provided that the Governor-General may, from time to time, by Order in Council, revoke the reservation over any public reserve or part thereof, and thereupon the land comprised therein shall, if vested in the Crown or in any local authority, or trustees deriving title from the Crown, become Crown land available for disposal under the Land Act, 1948 :
And whereas the land described in the Schedule hereto is a reserve duly set apart for recreation purposes but is not required for that purpose, and it is expedient to revoke the reservation over the said land :
Now, therefore, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby give notice, pursuant to subsection (2) of section 7 of the said Act, that it is my intention to issue an Order in Council under the provisions of subsection (1) (b) of section 7 of the said Act declaring that the reservation for recreation purposes over the land described in the Schedule hereto shall be revoked.

CANTERBURY LAND DISTRICT
ALL that area situated in the City of Christchurch, containing by admeasurement 1 rood 32 perches, more or less, being Reserve 4397 (formerly Lot 16 on a plan deposited in the Land Registry Office at Christchurch under No. 11204), being part of Rural Section 44. As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 6/1/718A, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey at Wellington, and thereon edged red.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 26th day of October, 1950.

PURSUANT to section 7 of the Samoa Amendment Act, 1949, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby appoint you
John Bird Wright
to be Public Service Commissioner of Western Samoa during the absence from Western Samoa of Robert Austin Malone and to hold that office during my pleasure or until the sooner return to Western Samoa of the said Robert Austin Malone and I declare that this appointment shall take effect on and from the 23rd day of October, 1950.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the Seal of that Dominion, this 20th day of October, 1950.
