Appointing the Registration Office for the Mackenzie Branding Registration District.—(Notice No. Ag. 4920)

WHEREAS it is expedient that the place appointed to be the registration office for the Mackenzie Branding Registration District as defined by Warrant under the hand of the Governor dated the 18th day of December, 1915, be changed from the City of Timaru as set out in the said Warrant to the Township of Fairlie:
Now, therefore, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred upon me by the Stock Act, 1908, do hereby appoint the Township of Fairlie to be the registration office for the Mackenzie Branding Registration District, as defined in the said Warrant, in lieu of the City of Timaru, being the place hitherto appointed as the registration office for the said district; and I do hereby declare that this Warrant shall come into operation on the 1st day of November, 1950.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General,
this 16th day of October, 1950.

Land Reserved in the Nelson Land District

WHEREAS by section 167 of the Land Act, 1948, it is enacted that the Governor-General may from time to time set apart as a reserve, notwithstanding that the same may be then held under pastoral lease or pastoral occupation licence, any Crown land for any purpose which, in his opinion, is desirable in the public interest, and notice thereof shall be published in the New Zealand Gazette:
Now, therefore, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the said Act, do hereby reserve the land in the Nelson Land District, described in the Schedule hereto, for a site for a war memorial hall.
SCHEDULE
NELSON LAND DISTRICT
ALL that area containing by admeasurement 9·9 perches, more or less, being part Section 3, Square 93, situated in Block V, French Pass Survey District, and being all the land shown on a plan deposited in the Land Registry Office at Nelson, under No. 3973. As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 6/6/879A, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon edged red.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General,
this 19th day of October, 1950.

Temporarily Appointing a Member of the Auckland Tramways Appeal Board

WHEREAS it is provided in clause 12 of the regulations under the Tramways Amendment Act, 1910, made on the 2nd day of February, 1911, that in the case of the unavoidable absence of either of the members of the Board other than the Chairman, the Governor-General may temporarily appoint some suitable person to act as member of the Board during such absence:
And whereas the employers' representative on the Board is unavoidably absent and it is expedient that a temporary member should be appointed:
Now, therefore, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by clause 12 of the said regulations, and of all other powers enabling me in that behalf, do hereby appoint
Hugh Wylie, Esquire,
of Auckland to be the representative of the employers on the Auckland Tramways Appeal Board during the absence of the employers' representative.

Trustees for Springston Cemetery Appointed

PURSUANT to section 55 of the Cemeteries Act, 1908, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby appoint
The Springs County Council
to be the trustees of the Cemetery within the meaning of the said Act, known as the Springston Cemetery, being the land described in the Schedule hereto, and to have the control and management thereof.

RESERVE 2578, situated in Block VIII, Leeston Survey District : Area, 5 acres.

HIS Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to approve of the following appointments, promotions, transfers, and retirements of officers of the New Zealand Military Forces:—
THE ROYAL N.Z. ARTILLERY
Regular Force—
Lieutenant and Quartermaster A. J. Baigent, M.B.E., to be Captain and Quartermaster. Dated 26th October, 1950.
Territorial Force—
Captain I. T. Y. Johnston, 4th Medium Regiment, R.N.Z.A., is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, Regimental List, 1st Field Regiment, R.N.Z.A., with the rank of Captain, with seniority from 26th December, 1942. Dated 25th August, 1950.
Captain T. G. Moorcraft, 1st Field Regiment, R.N.Z.A., is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, General List, The Royal N.Z. Artillery, with the rank of Captain, with seniority from 1st May, 1946, and remains seconded to the Mount Albert Grammar School Cadets. Dated 18th September, 1950.
Lieutenant H. D. Jeffreys, 11th Coast Regiment, R.N.Z.A., is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, General List, The Royal N.Z. Artillery, with the rank of Lieutenant, with seniority from 6th August, 1947. Dated 3rd October, 1950.
Temp. Lieutenant H. J. E. Wilson, from the Reserve of Officers, Supplementary List, to be Lieutenant, with seniority from 8th April, 1948, and is posted to the 10th Coast Regiment, R.N.Z.A. Dated 3rd September, 1950.
THE ROYAL N.Z. ARMOURED CORPS
Territorial Force—
Lieutenant M. McD. Davidson, 1st Armoured Car Regiment (New Zealand Scottish), R.N.Z.A.C., is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, Regimental List, 1st Armoured Car Regiment (New Zealand Scottish), R.N.Z.A.C., with the rank of Lieutenant, with seniority from 1st October, 1941. Dated 5th October, 1950.
