- These rates include (in addition to wharfage, loading or unloading at Picton, and the use of tarpaulins), cartage, wharfage, and harbour-improvement rate at Wellington, and sorting at Blenheim. Consignments of general cargo exceeding 3 cwt. in weight or 6 cubic feet measurement will be charged 9s. 7d. or at the rates applicable to general cargo, whichever is greater.
† The freight to be charged on the actual weight at the above rates and the excess of the measurement over the weight to be charged in addition at 35s. per 40 cubic feet.
‡ The rates for consignments measuring up to and including 15 cubic feet include (in addition to wharfage, loading, or unloading at Picton) cartage, wharfage, and harbour-improvement rate at Wellington, and sorting at Blenheim. Consignments of homing pigeons and empty return crates or baskets exceeding 15 cubic feet will be charged at rates of 39s. and 19s 6d. respectively per ton of 40 cubic feet plus the appropriate charges for cartage, wharfage and harbour-improvement rate at Wellington, and sorting at Blenheim.
§ Charge first 100 cubic feet at 48s. 6d. per 40 cubic feet and the balance of the measurement at 35s. per 40 cubic feet.
