Alterations to the Scales of Charges Upon the New Zealand Government Railways
IN pursuance of all powers and authorities enabling me under the Government Railways Act, 1949, and of all other powers enabling me in this behalf, I, William Stanley Goosman, Minister of Railways, do hereby make the following alterations to the Local Rates Scale of Charges made on the 12th day of May, 1948, and published in the Supplement dated the 19th day of May, 1948, to the New Zealand Gazette of the 13th day of May, 1948, in force on the New Zealand Government Railways open for traffic.
The rates and charges in force as provided in the Local Rates Scale of Charges, with the exceptions indicated hereafter, will be subject to the following percentage increases :—
Classes “C,” “D,” and “H” goods, also New Zealand-grown fresh fruit and vegetables—
Up to 150 miles .. .. .. .. 12½
Over 150 miles .. .. .. .. 16⅔
Live-stock .. .. .. .. 12½
Timber .. .. .. .. 20
Railage charges for other goods and charges other than railage (handling, cranage, demurrage, wharfages, &c.) .. 33⅓
Exceptions :—
