Appointments in the Public Service

Prohibition of Issue of Money-orders and Transmission of Postal Correspondence

THE Postmaster-General of the Dominion of New Zealand having reasonable ground for supposing that the person and organization whose names and addresses are shown in the Schedule hereunder are engaged in promoting or carrying out a lottery or scheme of chance, it is hereby ordered under section 32 of the Post and Telegraph Act, 1928, that no money-order in favour of the said person or of the said organization shall be issued, and that no postal packet addressed to the said person or the said organization (either by his or its own or any fictitious or assumed name) or directed to the addresses mentioned in the Schedule hereunder without a name, shall be registered or forwarded by the post-office of New Zealand.

Declaring Trailer Units Forming Part of a Multi-axled Motor-vehicle to be Trailers

PURSUANT to subsection (1) of section 2 of the Transport Act, 1949, the Minister of Transport doth hereby determine that the two vehicles specified in the Schedule hereto, each forming part of a multi-axled vehicle as defined by subsection (1) of section 2 of the said Act, shall be deemed to be trailers.

Two trailer units, Chassis Nos. T12197 and T12198, respectively, owned by the Roose Shipping Co., Limited.

Declaring Area to be a Closely Populated Locality for the Purpose of Section 36 of the Transport Act, 1949

IN terms of section 36 of the Transport Act, 1949, the Minister of Transport doth hereby declare the area described in the Schedule hereto to be a closely populated locality for the purposes of the said section to the intent that a person driving any motor-vehicle on any road therein shall be subject to the maximum speed limit of thirty miles an hour fixed by the said section.

SITUATED within Southland County :-
All that area at Dipton consisting of the Queenstown-Invercargill State Highway No. 65 commencing at a point 3 chains measured along the said State highway in a westerly direction from its junction with the Dipton-Castlerock Main Highway No. 133, and terminating at a point 3 chains measured along the said State highway in a south-westerly direction from the Spirit Burn Bridge.
