Classification of Roads in Lake County

PURSUANT to regulation 3 (5) of the Heavy Motor-vehicle Regulations 1950, the Minister of Transport doth hereby alter the Lake County Council’s proposed classification of the roads described in the Schedule hereto and situated in Lake County and doth hereby approve such altered classification as described in the said Schedule.

Fairy Springs (from the northern boundary of Rotorua Borough to Main Road), Main (from Fairy Springs Road to Tutanekei Street), Tutanekei (from Main Road to Arawa Street), Arawa (from Tutanekei Street to Fenton Street), Fenton (from Arawa Street to Hemo Road), Hemo (to the Southern boundary of Rotorua Borough), Wairoa.

Roads Classified in Class Three

Approval of Testing Officer Under the Motor-drivers Regulations 1940

IN terms of regulation 5 of the Motor-drivers Regulations 1940, the Minister of Transport doth hereby approve of the person named in Column 2 of the Schedule hereunder being a testing officer under the said regulations for the authority specified in Column 1 of the said Schedule.

Exemption Order Under the Motor-drivers Regulations 1940

PURSUANT to the Motor-drivers Regulations 1940, the Minister of Transport doth hereby order and declare that the provisions of clause (1) of regulation 7 of the said regulations so far as they relate to the driving of heavy trade motors, shall not apply to the person hereinafter mentioned, but in lieu thereof the following provision shall apply :—

A motor-driver’s licence issued under the Motor-drivers Regulations 1940 to the person described in Column 1 of the Schedule hereunder may authorize him to drive a heavy trade motor in the course of his employment on a farm or market-garden of the employer described in Column 2 of the said Schedule, but shall not authorize him, while he is under the age of eighteen years, to drive a heavy trade motor for any other purpose.

Declaring Area to be a Closely Populated Locality for the Purposes of Section 36 of the Transport Act, 1949

IN terms of section 36 of the Transport Act, 1949, the Minister of Transport doth hereby declare the area described in the Schedule hereto to be a closely populated locality for the purposes of the said section, to the intent that a person driving any motor-vehicle on any road therein shall be subject to the maximum speed limit of thirty miles an hour fixed by the said section.

SITUATED within Waitotara County—

All that area adjacent to Wanganui City consisting of that portion of the Hawera–Wanganui State Highway No. 11, commencing at the north-western boundary of Wanganui City and terminating at a point 40 chains measured along the said State Highway, generally in a north-westerly direction from the said boundary.

The Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943.—Notice Declaring Land Taken for the Settlement of a Discharged Serviceman

WHEREAS an application has been made for the consent of the Land Valuation Court to a transaction which relates to the land described in the Schedule hereto and to which Part III of the Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943, applies :

And whereas the Land Valuation Committee to which the application has been referred is of opinion that the land to which the application relates is farm land suitable for the settlement of a discharged serviceman :

And whereas the said Committee, not being satisfied that the Crown had decided not to acquire or arrange for the acquisition of the land, did on the 1st day of August, 1950, make an order determining the basic value of the land, and no appeal from the said order was made within the time prescribed by the said Act or within any further time allowed by the Court :

And whereas the said land is not the land of any serviceman who is for the time being serving outside New Zealand in any of His Majesty’s Forces or in any British ship :

Now, therefore, the Minister of Lands, acting in pursuance of section 51 of the said Act, doth hereby declare that the said land is taken for the settlement of a discharged serviceman, and hereby specifies the 12th day of September, 1950, as the date on which the said land shall be deemed to be vested in His Majesty the King.

ALL that parcel of land containing by admeasurement two hundred and twelve (212) acres one (1) rood and twenty (20) perches, more or less, being Section 216, Block IV, Mawheranui Survey District, and part Sections 3 and 4, Block XVI, Waiwhero Survey District, and being all the land comprised and described in Certificate of Title, Volume 48, folio 138, Westland Land Registry.

Also all that parcel of land containing by admeasurement one hundred and seventy-six (176) acres one (1) rood and thirty-two decimal four (32·4) perches, more or less, being part Section 64, Block IV, Mawheranui Survey District, and being all the land comprised and described in Certificate of Title, Volume 48, folio 210, Westland Land Registry.
