Domain Board Appointed to Have Control of the Mangamahu Domain

At the Government House at Wellington, this 23rd day of

Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by section
44 of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act,
1928, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of
New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the
Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby appoint
Robert Charles Cook,
Geoffrey Elmore Morris,
David Hugh Archer,
John Somerled McDonald, and
John Frederick Collins
to be the Mangamahu Domain Board, having control of the land
described in the Schedule hereto; and doth hereby appoint Tuesday,
the 12th day of September, 1950, at 8 o'clock p.m., as the time
when, and the Mangamahu Hall, as the place where the first
meeting of the Board shall be held.

Vesting the Control of a Scenic Reserve in the Riwaka Scenic Board

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred
upon him by section 13 of the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908,
His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New
Zealand doth hereby vest the control of the reserve described in
the Schedule hereto (being land reserved under the said Act), for
the period of five years from the date hereof (unless previously
altered or revoked under the said Act), in the undermentioned
persons, namely,—
Reynold Philip Cook,
Alexander John Drummond,
Harry Alexander Drummond,
William Albert Arnold Ryder,
Horace James Trewavas,
Oliver Clinton Wilkinson,
Ronald Percival Wood,
Alan Hugh Trewavas, and
Jack Lyndon Ryder,
who are hereby constituted for that purpose a special Board by the
name of the Riwaka Scenic Board (herein referred to as the
Board), in trust, for the preservation of scenery, and with the
powers and subject to the conditions hereinafter contained, that is
to say,—

The first meeting of the Board shall be held on Monday,
the 21st day of August, 1950, at 7.30 o'clock p.m., at the residence
of Mr. H. A. Drummond, Riwaka Valley. -
The members of the Board shall at their first meeting, and
thereafter at the annual meeting hereinafter mentioned, elect one
of themselves to be Chairman, who may join in the discussion, and
shall have an original as well as a casting vote. The Chairman shall
hold office until the election of his successor. -
Special meetings may be convened by the Chairman, provided
that two days’ notice of such meeting is given to each member,
specifying the business to be transacted at such special meeting; and
no other business than that so specified shall be transacted at such
meeting. -
Any five members of the Board shall form a quorum. Any
meeting may be adjourned from time to time. -
All questions shall be determined by the majority of votes
of the members of the Board present at the meeting. -
If at any meeting the Chairman is not present at the time
appointed for holding the same, the members present shall choose
one of their number to be Chairman for such meeting. -
If by resignation, death, incapacity, or otherwise, the seat
of any member shall be or become vacant, or if any member absents
himself, without reasonable cause, from three consecutive meetings
of the Board, the Governor-General shall have power to appoint
any other person to be a member of the Board in his stead. -
The Board shall prepare and submit at an annual meeting to
be held in the month of April in each year a report of the proceedings
of the Board for the previous year ending on the 31st day
of March, together with a statement of the receipts and expenditure
of the Board for such year. A copy of every such report and statement,
certified by the Chairman to be correct, shall be sent to the
Minister in Charge of Scenery Preservation as soon as possible after
each annual meeting. -
The Board shall control the said reserve in accordance with
the provisions of the said Act and of the regulations made thereunder.

NELSON LAND DISTRICT.—RIWAKA SCENIC RESERVE
SECTION 23, Block VII, Kaiteriteri Survey District: Area, 277 acres
2 roods 27 perches, more or less.
Also Section 26, Block VII, Kaiteriteri Survey District: Area,
110 acres 1 rood 25 perches, more or less.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General,
this 17th day of August, 1950.

Captain W. G. Hardcastle, 6th Light Anti-aircraft Regiment,
R.N.Z.A., is transferred to the 13th Composite Anti-aircraft
Regiment, R.N.Z.A., with his present rank and seniority. Dated
lst January, 1950.
Captain W. G. Hardcastle, 13th Composite Anti-aircraft
Regiment, R.N.Z.A., to be Major. Dated 1st January, 1950.
