Declaring Trailer Units Forming Part of a Multi-axled Motor-vehicle
to be Trailers

Pursuant to subsection (1) of section 2 of the Transport Act,
1949, the Minister of Transport doth hereby determine that
the two vehicles specified in the Schedule hereto, each forming part
of a multi-axled vehicle as defined by subsection (1) of section 2
of the said Act, shall be deemed to be trailers.

SCHEDULE

Two trailer units, Chassis Nos. T8137 and T8138 respectively, owned
by S. F. Croft.

Exemption Order Under the Motor-drivers Regulations, 1940

Pursuant to the Motor-drivers Regulations 1940, the Minister
of Transport doth hereby order and declare that the pro-
visions of clause (1) of regulation 7 of the said regulations so far
as they relate to the driving of heavy trade motors, shall not apply
to the persons hereinafter mentioned, but in lieu thereof the following
provision shall apply :—

A motor-driver's licence issued under the Motor-drivers Regu-
lations 1940 to any one of the persons described in Column 1 of the
Schedule hereunder may authorize him to drive a heavy trade
motor in the course of his employment on a farm or market-garden
of the respective employer described in Column 2 of the said Schedule,
but shall not authorize him, while he is under the age of eighteen
years, to drive a heavy trade motor for any other purpose.

Notice of Cloud-flying Area

It is hereby notified that cloud flying between heights of 3,000 ft.
and 40,000 ft. will take place in the area entirely over the sea
known as the “Ohakea Cloud-flying Area,” being the area described
in the Schedule hereunder. All aircraft using this area will be duly
authorized for this purpose by the Commanding Officer, R.N.Z.A.F.
Station, Ohakea.

SCHEDULE

That area commencing at—

Position “A”: 39° 33′ south, 173° 00′ east; thence to
Position “B”: 40° 00′ south, 174° 40′ east; thence to
Position “C”: 40° 37′ south, 174° 20′ east; thence to
Position “D”: 40° 10′ south, 172° 40′ east.

Fairway Lighted and Whistle Buoy

Details: On the first suitable occasion of weather and other
circumstances after 1st September, 1950, it is proposed to bring
the above buoy in for annual overhaul, and it will be temporarily
replaced by an unlighted red conical buoy. It is anticipated that
the light and whistle buoy will be absent from station approxi-
mately three weeks.

Notice to Mariners No. 44 of 1950

NEW ZEALAND.—SOUTH ISLAND.—GREYMOUTH

Wave Recording Unit Established

Position: Lat., 42° 28½′ S.; long., 171° 9·5′ E. (approx.).

Details: A wave recording unit has been laid on the sea bottom
about 2½ miles south of the entrance to Greymouth Harbour. It
consists of an iron tripod of 9 ft. sides at the bottom, and 4 ft. 6 ins.
high, supporting a small detector unit connected to shore by an
armoured cable 1·45 inch in diameter. It lies in 36 ft. of water
at low water springs, 1·1 miles from shore opposite the Tasman
Bowling Green, Karoro, on the following bearing:—

Tiphead of southern mole 034°, hospital chimney 075°, small
hut alongside Tasman Bowling Green 097°.

It is proposed to take wave records over a period of one or two
years.

Alteration to Harbour Light

Position: On Boulder Bank: Lat., 41° 15′·8 S.; long., 173°
16′·8 E. (approx.).

Details: On August 18th, 1950, the characteristics of the above
light will be altered to group flashing (2) every 10 seconds with
white and red sectors, flash 0·75 secs., eclipse 2·0 secs., flash 0·75 secs.,
eclipse 6·5 secs. Arcs of visibility, height and range, &c., remain as
formerly.

Pharmacy Industry

for a licence to operate a new pharmacy at 417 Main South Road,
Hornby, Christchurch.

Applicants and other persons considering themselves to be
materially affected by the decision of the Bureau of Industry on
