IN accordance with the provisions of the Education Act, 1914, it is hereby notified that the following have been elected as members of the Education Board of the District of Hawke’s Bay:—

CROWN LANDS NOTICE

Land in the Taranaki Land District for Sale or Lease

District Lands and Survey Office,
New Plymouth, 7th August, 1950.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned land is open for sale or lease under the Land Act, 1948, and applications will be received at the District Lands and Survey Office, New Plymouth, up to 4 o’clock p.m. on Monday, 11th September, 1950.

Applicants may be required by the Commissioner of Crown Lands, New Plymouth, acting on behalf of the Land Settlement Board, to appear personally in support of their applications at a time and place to be advised.

The ballot will be held at the District Lands and Survey Office, New Plymouth, at 2 o’clock p.m. on Wednesday, 13th September, 1940, and persons who so wish may attend.

The successful applicant is required to pay, immediately on notification of result of ballot, a deposit comprising broken-period and first half-year’s rent and deposit on improvements, or deposit on deferred payments, together with lease or licence fee, or the purchase-price plus title fee.

SCHEDULE

PARITUTU SURVEY DISTRICT.—TARANAKI COUNTY.—FARM LAND

SECTION 23, Block VI: Area, 15 acres 2 roods 19 perches. Rental value £250. Purchase-price, £1,710. Deposit on deferred payments, £210. Half-yearly instalment on deferred payments (term: 30 years), £46 10s. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, £5 12s. 6d.

Situated on this land and included in the purchase-price are improvements valued at £1,460, comprising 7-roomed dwelling, cowshed, garage, sheds, 55 chains fencing, plantation, 18 chains drain, 10 acres cleared and grassed, access road, well troughs and piping, electric installation. If he selects on renewable lease, the successful applicant is required to purchase these improvements for cash or, after payment of a deposit of £185, by half-yearly instalments of principal and interest of £39 10s. 6d. each over a period of 30 years.

This property is situated on the Smart Road, about 3 miles east of New Plymouth. Soil 6 inches medium loam on clay sub-soil. The land falls away from the road to a well-sheltered basin, about 10 acres easy land, the balance fairly steep and in trees, pastures fair. Gorse requires attention. Electric power installed. Suitable as a worker’s home on which poultry and a cow or two could be run.

Priority will be given to applications from ex-servicemen of World War II or the wives or widows of such ex-servicemen.

NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—AUCKLAND CONSERVANCY

ALL that area in the North Auckland Land District, Mangonui County, containing by admeasurement 10 acres 2 roods 8 perches, more or less, being Section 5, Block XII, Takahue Survey District, being formerly Patiki No. 2 Block, and being all the land comprised and described in Certificate of Title, Volume 292, folio 268 (Auckland Land Registry). As the same is delineated on plan No. 4/20, deposited in the Head Office of the New Zealand Forest Service at Wellington, and thereon bordered red. (North Auckland plan S.O. 16107L.)
