Date of Election by Fire-insurance Companies to Fill Extraordinary Vacancy on the Timaru Fire Board

Wellington, 18th January, 1950.
PURSUANT to the Fire Services Act, 1949, and the rules made thereunder, the Minister charged with the administration of the said Act doth hereby appoint Friday, the 3rd February, 1950, to be the date for holding the election of one member of the Timaru Fire Board by Fire Insurance Companies, such election being held to fill the extraordinary vacancy caused by the resignation of Mr. T. G. Somerville.

PURSUANT to the Fire Services Act, 1949, and the rules thereunder the Minister charged with the administration of the said Act doth appoint Thursday, the 16th February, 1950, to be the date for holding the election of one member of the Wanganui Fire Board by the Fire-insurance Companies, such election being held to fill the extraordinary vacancy caused by the resignation of Mr. A. G. Mills.

The Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943.—Revocation of Notice of Intention to Take Land
WHEREAS, pursuant to section 24 of the Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943, notice was given of the intention of the Minister of Lands to take, under Part II of the said Act, the lands described in the Schedule hereto, and a copy of the said notice was published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 60 on the 20th day of October, 1949, at page 2474 :
And whereas an objection was made by the owner objecting to the taking of the said lands :
And whereas the Minister of Lands has decided not to proceed with action to take the said lands :
Now, therefore, the Minister of Lands, acting in pursuance of subsection (4) of section 25 of the Act, doth hereby revoke the notice of intention to take the said land.
SCHEDULE
SOUTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT
ALL that parcel of land situated in Blocks VI and X, Komakorau Survey District, containing by admeasurement five hundred and ninety-seven (597) acres two (2) roods ten decimal three (10·3) perches, more or less, being Lots 8 and 10 on Deposited Plan 13763, and part of Lots 15 and 16 on Deposited Plan 5144, being portion of the Block granted to the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, by grant dated the 20th July, 1876, and being all of the land described in certificate of title, Vol. 319, folio 287 (Auckland Registry).

The Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943.—Notice of Intention to Take Land
THE Minister of Lands, acting in pursuance of section 24 of the Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943, hereby gives notice of his intention to take the land described in the Schedule hereto under Part II of the said Act, and specifies the 1st day of May, 1950, as the date on which possession of the land is required and the 21st day of February, 1950, as the date on or before which objections may be made under section 25 of the said Act.
SCHEDULE
SOUTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT
ALL that parcel of land situated in Blocks VIII and XII, Komakorau Survey District, and Block IX, Maungakawa Survey District, containing by admeasurement eight hundred and forty-six (846) acres two (2) roods fourteen decimal five (14·5) perches, more or less, being Allotment 363, Kirikiriroa Parish, and part of the land granted to the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, by Grant dated 20th July, 1876, parts of the said land being more particularly shown as part of Lot 1 on D.P. 2691 and part of Lot 2 on D.P. 14720, and being all of the land described in certificate of title, Vol. 841, folio 190 (Auckland Registry).

The Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943.—Notice of Intention to Take Land and an Interest in Land
THE Minister of Lands, acting in pursuance of section 24 of the Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943, as extended by the provisions of section 2 of the Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Amendment Act, 1948, hereby gives notice of his intention to take under Part II of the said Act the lands described in the First Schedule hereto, and the interest of the lessee or licensee in the lands described in the Second Schedule, hereto, and specifies the 15th day of March, 1950, as the date on which possession of the lands described in the said First and Second Schedules is required and the 28th day of February, 1950, as the date on or before which objections may be made under section 25 of the said Act.
FIRST SCHEDULE
SOUTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT
ALL that parcel of land situated in Block XIII, Tapapa Survey District, and Block I, Patetere North Survey District, containing by admeasurement six hundred and eighty (680) acres, more or less, being Lot 16 on Deposited Plans 3077 and 3079, being all of the land described in certificate of title, Vol. 161, folio 283 (Auckland Registry).
Also all that parcel of land situated in Blocks IX and X, Cambridge Survey District, containing by admeasurement two hundred and thirty-five (235) acres one (1) rood twenty (20) perches, more or less, being Lot 2 on Deposited Plan 29655, being Allotments 132 and 133 and part of Allotments 130, 131, 140, 141, 141A, 142, and 143, Pukekura Parish, and being all of the land described in certificate of title, Vol. 730, folio 281 (Auckland Registry).
SECOND SCHEDULE
SOUTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT
ALL that parcel of land situated in Block XIV, Tapapa Survey District, and Block II, Paretere North Survey District, containing by admeasurement three hundred and eleven (311) acres three (3) roods thirty-four (34) perches, more or less, being Section 6, Clifford Settlement, and being all of the land described in the Special Tenure Lease comprised in Register-book, Vol. 304, folio 251 (Auckland Registry).

Declaring Land in Block III, Teviotdale, and Block XVIII, Waikari Survey Districts, Canterbury Land District, to be a Nassella Tussock Control Reserve
IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred upon me by subsection (3) of section 65A of the Nassella Tussock Act, 1946, I, Ernest Bowyer Corbett, Minister of Lands, do hereby declare the land described in the Schedule hereto to be a nassella tussock control reserve.
SCHEDULE
CANTERBURY LAND DISTRICT
ALL that area situated in Block III, Teviotdale Survey District, and Block XVIII, Waikari Survey District, containing by admeasurement 494 acres 2 roods 12 perches, more or less, being part Lot 3 on a plan deposited in the Land Registry Office at Christchurch under No. 6285, and being parts of Rural Sections 20192, 20193, 20194, 23795, 31301, 31304, and 31674, and being all of the land comprised and described in certificate of title, Vol. 451, folio 262 (Canterbury Registry). As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 36/1918, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon edged green.

Hauraki Plains Drainage District.—Penalty on Overdue Rates
Department of Lands and Survey,
Wellington, 17th January, 1950.
IN pursuance of section 76 of the Rating Act, 1925, and the Hauraki Plains Act, 1926, the ratepayers within the district constituted by the last-mentioned Act are hereby notified that 10 per cent. additional will be added to all rates for the year ending 31st March, 1950, unpaid on 2nd February, 1950.
Rates may be paid at any money-order office or to the Collector of Rates, Lands and Survey Department, P.O. Box 2205, Auckland C.1.
