Initial appointments will be at a maximum of £380 or £435 according to qualifications, and higher maxima will be considered in individual cases.

(¹) Same as clerical scale. (²) Salary according to age: £215 per annum age 17; £220 per annum age 18; £230 per annum age 19; £240 per annum age 20; £255 per annum age 21. (³) At any point in the clerical scale. (⁴) Position graded in Educational Division. (⁵) Maximum includes £50 per annum as married officer payable in terms of Teachers’ Regulations. When competing for positions graded under Public Service Act, the married increment is disregarded.

NOTE.—For single male Attendants, farm workers, and artisans at institutions a deduction of £70 per annum for board and quarters will be made. For Matrons, Cottage Matrons, Sub-Matrons, Cooks, Laundresses, Seamstresses, Attendants, Housemaids, Principals, Vice-Principals, Housemasters, and Housemistresses at institutions a deduction of £70 per annum for board and quarters will be made, or £85 per annum if separate sitting-room provided. In each case the salary shown is subject to the rate of deduction indicated in the “Remarks” column opposite the name of the individual officer.
