Farmer, hereby applies for a licence for a water-race, as specified
in the Schedule hereto, the course whereof has been duly marked
out for the purpose.

Section 12, Block II, Strath Taieri District (being private land),
at a point about 50 chains west of railway, running thence through
said section 12 in an easterly direction across the said railway and
a public road, and terminating in applicant's property, being
Section 8, Block II, Strath Taieri District.
Length and intended course of race : 60 chains ; easterly.
Point of intake: One ; out of Wandle Creek.
Estimated time and cost of construction : 1 week; £100.
Mean depth and breadth: 1 ft. x 1½ ft.
Number of heads to be diverted : 1½ heads.
Purpose for which water is to be used: Irrigation.

LEVIN BOROUGH COUNCIL
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that
behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1926, the Levin Borough
Council hereby resolves as follows:-
"That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other
charges on a loan of five thousand seven hundred and thirty pounds
(£5,730), authorized to be raised by the Levin Borough Council
under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of improving the
water-supply of the Borough of Levin, being the installation of a
new pump, a new meter, and alterations to the intake of the present
water-supply system, as required by a requisition issued under
section 22 of the Health Act, 1920, the said Levin Borough Council
hereby makes and levies a special rate of one hundred and sixty-
six four-hundredths of a penny (166/400ths d.) in the pound upon
the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all
rateable property of the Borough of Levin, comprising the whole
of the Borough of Levin; and that such special rate shall be an
annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be
payable yearly on the Ist day of August in each and every year
during the currency of such loan, being a period of fifteen (15)
years, or until the loan is fully paid off."

For the first 8 pages, 6d., increasing by 3d. for every
subsequent 8 pages or part thereof; postage, ld.
Advertisements are charged at the rate of 6d. per line
for the first insertion, and 3d. per line for the second and
any subsequent insertions.
All advertisements should be written on one side of the
paper, and signatures, &c., should be written in a legible
hand.
The number of insertions required must be written across
the face of the advertisement.
The New Zealand Gazette is published on Thursday
evening of each week, and notices for insertion must be
received by the Government Printer before 12 o'clock of

UNDER the Regulations Act, 1936, statutory regulations
of general legislative force are no longer published
in the New Zealand Gazette, but are supplied under any
one or more of the following arrangements:-

filing), subscription £1 12s. 6d. per calendar year
in advance.
(2) Annual volume (including index) bound in buckram,
£1 5s. (Volumes for years 1941 and 1942 are out
of print.)
(3) Serially as issued and annual bound volume, as in
(1) and (2) above, on combined subscription basis,
£2 7s. 6d. per calendar year in advance.
(4) Separate regulations as issued.
The price of each regulation is printed thereon, facilitating
the purchase of extra copies.
