IN VOLUNTARY LIQUIDATION

In the matter of the Companies Act, 1933, and in the matter of DIESEL ENGINEERS AND AGENTS, LIMITED.

NOTICE is hereby given that, by an entry in its minute-book, the above-named company, on the 4th day of May, 1950, passed a resolution for voluntary winding-up, and a meeting of the creditors of the above-named company will accordingly be held in the Chamber of Commerce Hall, corner of Worcester Street and Oxford Terrace, Christchurch, on Monday, the 15th day of May, 1950, at 2.30 o’clock in the afternoon.

Business :—
(1) Consideration of the statement of position of the company.
(2) Confirmation of the shareholders’ appointment of CYRIL LUTON STURGE, of Christchurch, Public Accountant, as liquidator.
(3) To appoint committee of inspection if thought fit.

LEVELS COUNTY COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Council of the Levels County hereby resolves as follows :—

“ That, for the purpose of providing interest, principal, and other charges on a loan of £1,300, authorized to be raised by the Levels County Council under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of purchasing a worker’s dwelling, the said Council of the Levels County hereby makes and levies a special rate of ·00846 of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property in the County of Levels, and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and shall be payable yearly on the 1st day of August in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of fifteen years or until the loan is fully paid off.”

NOTICE is hereby given that, by an entry in the minute-book of the above-named company, dated the 1st day of May, 1950, the following extraordinary resolution was duly passed :—

“ (1) That the company cannot, by reason of its liabilities, continue its business and that it is advisable to wind up, and that the company be wound up accordingly.
“ (2) That DERRICK ALAN WHITE, of Christchurch, Registered Accountant, be and is hereby appointed liquidator of the company.”

NOTICE is hereby given that, in pursuance of section 232 of the Companies’ Act, 1933, a general meeting of the members of the above company will be held at the office of the liquidator, 8 Ellison Road, Havelock North, on Friday, 26th May, 1950, at 2.30 p.m., for the purpose of having an account laid before them showing the manner in which the winding-up has been conducted and the property of the company disposed of, and of hearing any explanation which may be given by the liquidator, and also of determining by extraordinary resolution the manner in which the books, accounts, and documents of the company and of the liquidator shall be disposed of.

NOTICE OF SPECIAL ORDER

Consolidated Special Rate

NOTICE is hereby given that at a special meeting of the Cook County Council, held on Thursday, the 27th day of April, 1950, the following resolution was passed and will be submitted for confirmation at the ordinary meeting of the Council to be held on Thursday, the 25th day of May, 1950, at 9.45 a.m., at the Council Chambers, 150 Childers Road, Gisborne :—

“ Pursuant to the powers contained in section 43, Finance Act, 1937, the Cook County Council hereby resolves, by way of special order in lieu of the several special rates enumerated in the Schedule hereto, to make and levy an annually recurring consolidated rate of seventeen one-hundredths pence (¹⁷⁄₁₀₀d.) in the pound over the whole of the County of Cook on all rateable property on the basis of the unimproved value.”

Muriwai Road No. 2, ½d. ; Maraetaha Bridge, ½d. ; Wharerata, ½d. ; Pakarae Riding, ⅔d. ; Pouawa, ⅔d. ; Ngatapa-Wharekopae, ⅓d. ; Ngatapa-Wharekopae No. 2, ½d. ; Patutahi-Ngatapa 1-2, ½d. ; Patutahi-Hangaroa, ¹⁄₁₁d. ; Hangaroa-Tiniroto, ⅔d. ; Lower Hangaroa, ½d. ; Te Reinga, ¹⁄₁₅d. ; Arai Valley, ½d. ; Roads and Levels, ⅓d. ; Main Bridges, ½d.

NOTE.—The last two were struck on unimproved value, and the balance on capital value.

“ 1. That the company cannot by reason of its liabilities continue its business and that it is advisable to wind up the same and that accordingly the company be wound up voluntarily.
“ 2. That Mr. PATRICK WINFIRD MILLAR, of Wellington, Registered Accountant, be nominated as liquidator of the company.”
