Approval of Testing Officers Under the Motor-drivers Regulations 1940

IN terms of Regulation 5 of the Motor-drivers Regulations 1940, the Minister of Transport doth hereby approve of the persons named in Column 2 of the Schedule hereunder being a Testing Officer under the said regulations for the authority specified in Column 1 of the said Schedule.

Revoking Part of a Warrant Declaring Area to be a Closely Populated Locality and Declaring Area to be a Closely Populated Locality for the Purposes of the Transport Act, 1949, Section 36

IN terms of section 36 of the Transport Act, 1949, the Minister of Transport doth hereby revoke that portion of the Warrant dated the 8th day of June, 1937,* which refers to part of the area described in the Schedule hereto, and doth hereby declare the area described in the said Schedule to be a closely populated locality for the purposes of the said section to the intent that a person driving any motor-vehicle on any road therein shall be subject to the maximum speed limit of thirty miles an hour fixed by the said section.

SCHEDULE

SITUATED within Halswell County—

All that area consisting of that portion of the Christchurch-Akaroa State Highway No. 74, commencing at the south-western boundary of Christchurch City, as now constituted, and terminating at a point 17 chains measured along the said State highway in a south-westerly direction from its junction with Tankerville Road, a distance of approximately 40 chains.

Notice of Intention to Take Land in Blocks I and II, Town of Wanaka, for a Recreation-ground

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1928, to take the land described in the Schedule hereto for a recreation-ground: And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the post-office at Wanaka and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Works at Wellington.
