Exemption Order Under the Motor-Drivers Regulations, 1940
PURSUANT to the Motor-drivers Regulations, 1940, the Minister
of Transport doth hereby order and declare that the provisions
of clause (1) of Regulation 7 of the said regulations, so far as they
relate to the driving of heavy trade motors, shall not apply to the
persons hereinafter mentioned, but in lieu thereof the following
provision shall apply :—
A motor-driver's licence issued under the Motor-drivers Regula-
tions 1940 to the person described in Column 1 of the Schedule
hereunder may authorize him to drive a heavy trade motor in the
course of his employment on a farm or market garden of the employer
described in Column 2 of the said Schedule, but shall not authorize
him, while he is under the age of eighteen years, to drive a heavy
trade motor for any other purpose.

The Standards Act, 1941.—Draft New Zealand Standard Specification
D.3004 : Code of Building By-laws (Part Relating to Fire-
resisting Construction)
NOTICE is hereby given that the above draft New Zealand
Standard Specification is now being circulated to affected
interests for consideration and comment. The closing-date fixed
for such comment is the 31st May, 1950.
All persons who may be affected by this specification once it
has been declared a Standard Specification by the Minister of
Industries and Commerce may, at any time before the closing-date
for comments, obtain, on application, free copies from the New
Zealand Standards Institute, Hamilton Chambers, 201 Lambton
Quay, Wellington, so as to have an opportunity to consider the draft
and to comment thereon to the Standards Council or to an appro-
priate committee of the Council in accordance with subsection (3) of
section 8 of the Standards Act, 1941.

Notice to Persons Affected by Applications for Licenses Under Part III
of the Industrial Efficiency Act, 1936
Pharmacy Industry
David Reginald Basil Bain, Fifth Avenue, Claudelands,
Hamilton, has applied for a licence to operate a new pharmacy at
London Street, between Barton and Victoria Streets, Hamilton.
Retail Sale and Distribution of Motor-spirit
Ray Laurent, Main North Road, New Plymouth, has applied
for a licence to resell motor-spirits from one pump to be installed
on service-station and garage premises at the above address.
Ohura Valley Co-op Dairy Co., Limited, Matiere, has applied
for deletion of the condition attaching to its licence in order that
sales may now be made to the general motoring public.
Applicants and other persons considering themselves to be
materially affected by the decisions of the Bureau of Industry on
these applications should, not later than the 11th May, submit any
written evidence and representations they may desire to tender.
