Land Subject to the Provisions of the Forests Act, 1949

All that area containing approximately 2,260 acres, situated in Block X, Minchin Survey District, and Blocks II, III, and VII, Hawdon Survey District, being part of State Forest Reserve 3281 on the east bank of the River Poulter extending from the upper reaches of that river to the southern boundary of National Park Reserve 3535.

Also all that area containing approximately 3,060 acres, situated in Block X, Minchin Survey District, and Blocks II, III, VI, and VII, Hawdon Survey District, being part of State Forest Reserve 3282, on the west bank of the River Poulter extending from the upper reaches of that river to the boundary of National Park Reserve 3535.

Also all that area containing approximately 10,900 acres, situated in Blocks V, VI, IX, X, XIII, and XIV, Hawdon Survey District, being part of State Forest Reserve 3283, bounded towards the west by the River Hawdon, on the south by Pastoral Run 175, on the south-east by the boundary of National Park Reserve 3535, and towards the north generally by the bush edge.

Also all that area containing approximately 3,920 acres, situated in Blocks VIII and XII, Bealey Survey District, and Blocks V and IX, Hawdon Survey District, being part of State Forest Reserve 3284, bounded towards the east by the river Hawdon, on the south by Pastoral Run 175, on the west by the eastern boundary of Arthur Pass National Park, and on the north-west generally by the bush edge.

As the above-mentioned areas are more particularily delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 4/633c, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon coloured red.

Altering Representation of Certain Districts on the Nelson Harbour Board

ORDER IN COUNCIL

At the Government House at Wellington, this 19th day of April, 1950

Present :

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

WHEREAS it is enacted by section 31 of the Harbours Act, 1923, (hereinafter called the said Act), that the creation, abolition, merger, division, or other alteration of any constituent or combined district shall not in itself have any operation so as to affect the then existing membership of the board, and that the Governor-General may from time to time by Order in Council, whenever in his opinion it becomes necessary or expedient so to do, make such provision with respect to the representation of any part of any constituent or combined district as he thinks fit :

And whereas it is provided in the First Schedule to the said Act that, inter alia, three members of the Nelson Harbour Board shall be elected by the electors of that part of the Waimea County included in the harbour district and of the Tahunanui Town District.

And whereas the Town District of Tahunanui has become merged in the City of Nelson, and it is desirable to make the necessary provision with respect to the representation of the said district :

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the hereinbefore-recited power and authority, and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in that behalf, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby order and declare that three members of the Nelson Harbour Board shall be elected by the electors of that part of the Waimea County included in the harbour district instead of three members by the electors of that part of the Waimea County included in the harbour district and of the Tahunanui Town District

Officer Authorized to Take and Receive Statutory Declarations

PURSUANT to the authority conferred upon me by section 301 of the Justices of the Peace Act, 1927, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby notify and declare that

Commander Robert Boyd, D.S.O., D.S.C., R.N.,

being an officer in the service of the Crown holding the office of Commander Superintendent, H.M.N.Z. Dockyard, Auckland, is authorized to take and receive statutory declarations under section 301 of the Justices of the Peace Act, 1927.

Appointment of Members of Radiological Advisory Council Under the Radioactive Substances Act, 1949

Captain I. D. Bell, 11th Coast Regiment, R.N.Z.A., to be Major. Dated 1st March, 1950.

Captain R. T. Doig, 11th Coast Regiment, R.N.Z.A., to be Major. Dated 1st March, 1950.

Lieutenant J. L. Gillooly, 11th Coast Regiment, R.N.Z.A., to be Captain. Dated 1st March, 1950.

Captain D. K. Dunbar, 13th Composite Anti-Aircraft Regiment, R.N.Z.A., is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, General List, The Royal N.Z. Artillery, with the rank of Captain, with seniority from 1st August, 1942. Dated 1st November, 1949.

Major G. W. King is granted an extension of his short-service commission to 31st March, 1951.

Temp. Lieutenant W. D. Capamagian, 1st Battalion, is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, General List, The Royal N.Z. Infantry Corps, with the rank of Lieutenant, with seniority from 1st October, 1940. Dated 31st December, 1949.
