NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LANDS FOR ROADS AND CLOSED PORTIONS OF ROADS
—
In the matter of the Public Works Act, 1928, and the Counties Act, 1920.
NOTICE is hereby given that the Raglan County Council proposes, under the provisions of the above-mentioned Acts, to execute a certain public work, namely—altering the course of a road—and for the purpose of such public work the various lands described in the First Schedule hereto are required to be taken: And further, that it is proposed to close the various portions of road described in the Second Schedule hereto.
Notice is further given that plans of the lands so required to be taken for roads and the portions of road proposed to be closed are deposited in the public offices of the Clerk to the said Council, at Ngaruawahia, and at the offices of Messrs. Tompkins and Wake, Solicitors, Wesley Chambers, Victoria Street, Hamilton, and are open for inspection by all persons during ordinary office hours. All persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of the said lands or by the closing of the said roads who have any well-grounded objection to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of the said lands or to the closing of the said roads, must state their objections in writing, within forty (40) days from the first publication of this notice, that is, on or before the 16th day of May, 1950, to the Raglan County Council, at Council Chambers, Waingaro Road, Ngaruawahia.

CHRISTCHURCH TRAMWAY BOARD

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
—
Development and Improvement Loan, £20,000, 1949
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred on it by section 9 of the Christchurch Tramway District Amendment Act, 1921, the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, and all other powers it enabling, the Christchurch Tramway Board hereby resolves, by way of special order, as follows :—
“1. That the said Board authorizes the raising of a loan of £20,000 for the purchase of omnibuses.
“2. That the rate of interest payable in respect of the said loan shall not exceed three pounds (£3) per centum per annum, and shall be paid in New Zealand.
“3. That the said sum of £20,000 shall be repayable in New Zealand on due date.
“4. That provision for the repayment thereof be made by establishing a sinking fund of eight pounds, fourteen shillings, and sixpence (£8 14s. 6d.) per centum per annum, calculated on the amount borrowed.
“5. That no portion of interest or sinking fund shall be paid out of loan-money.
“6. That the security for the said loan shall be a special rate to provide interest and sinking fund thereon.
“7. That, for the purpose of providing the interest and sinking fund on the said loan of £20,000, the Christchurch Tramway Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of decimal nought one four seven nought three pence (·014703d.) in the pound (£) upon the rateable value (on the basis of the capital value) of all rateable property of the Christchurch Tramway District, comprising the whole of the said district, the boundaries of which are defined in the Schedule to the Christchurch Tramway District Act, 1920, as amended by subsection (3) of section 9 of the Christchurch Tramway District Amendment Act, 1932–33 ; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the 31st March in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of ten years or until the loan is fully paid off.
“8. That it is hereby directed that the said rate be levied and collected by the Christchurch City Council, the Riccarton Borough Council, and the Waimairi, Paparua, Heathcote, and Halswell County Councils respectively, within their respective districts.”
The Christchurch Tramway Board, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Christchurch Tramway District Act, 1920, and all other powers it enabling, hereby further resolves by way of special order :—
“That, until further resolution of the Board, the interest and sinking fund on the said Development and Improvement Loan of £20,000 be paid out of the Board’s General Fund.”
The above special orders were made on the 6th day of March, 1950, and confirmed on the 3rd day of April, 1950.

LOST SHARE CERTIFICATE

APPLICATION has been made to the above company to issue a new certificate of title to Shares Nos. 75271 to 75470, both inclusive, in lieu of original certificate No. 4341, issued in the name of HORACE ARTHUR TURNER, of WAIPUKURAU, and the said HORACE ARTHUR TURNER has made a statutory declaration that the original certificate of title to the said shares has been lost.
Notice is hereby given that unless within thirty days from date hereof there is made to the company some claim or representation in respect of the said original certificate, a new certificate will be issued in place thereof.

NELSON HARBOUR BOARD

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
—
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, and the Nelson Harbour Board Empowering Act, 1939, the Nelson Harbour Board hereby resolves as follows :—
“1. That, for the purpose of providing the annual charges (being interest and repayments of principal) on a loan of £30,000, authorized to be raised by the Nelson Harbour Board under the above-mentioned Acts, for carrying out the works specified in the Schedule of the aforementioned Empowering Act, the said Nelson Harbour Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-ninth of a penny (¹⁄₉d.) in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of capital value) of all rateable property of the Nelson Harbour Board District, as defined by the Nelson Harbour Act, 1905, and its amendments of 1923 and 1931 ; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the 1st day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty years or until the loan is fully paid off.
“2. That the said Board doth hereby permanently appropriate and pledge the said special rate as security for the payment of the debentures to be issued in respect of the said loan of £30,000.”
Notice is hereby given that the Nelson Harbour Board, having publicly notified its intention in accordance with section 54 of the Rating Act, 1925, so to do, has passed the above resolution.
