Taking Land for Public Purposes at Aitutaki (Cook Islands)

ORDER IN COUNCIL
At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 21st day of December, 1949
Present:
THE HON. S. G. HOLLAND PRESIDING IN COUNCIL
PURSUANT to section three hundred and fifty-seven of the Cook Islands Act, 1915, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council,
doth hereby take the lands described in the Schedule hereto for the following public purpose—namely, sites for public buildings.
SCHEDULE
- All that parcel of land situate in the District of Arutanga, in the Island of Aitutaki, Cook Islands, containing 27 perches, be the same a little more or less, being part of Section No. 2c, Matariki.
- All that parcel of land situate in the District of Arutanga, in the Island of Aitutaki, Cook Islands, containing 19 perches, be the same a little more or less, being part of Section No. 37g, Pa-Ariki.
The said parcels of land altogether comprising 1 rood 6 perches, be the same a little more or less, as the same are delineated and edged red and yellow respectively on the plan signed by the Resident Commissioner of Rarotonga, and deposited in the office of the Registrar of the High Court of the Cook Islands at Rarotonga under No. 46.

Prohibition of Use of Emblem, Official Seal, or Name of the World Health Organization

PURSUANT to the authority conferred on me by subsection three of section thirty-eight of the Statutes Amendment Act, 1948, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby prohibit the use in connection with any trade or business of the emblem, the official seal, or the name of the World Health Organization, or any abbreviation or variation of that name, or any word or words that may incorporate that name, abbreviation, or variation, without the authorization of the Director-General of the World Health Organization. The emblem and official seal of the World Health Organization is the emblem of the United Nations surmounted by an Æsculapian staff and serpent in gold.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 30th day of December, 1949.

Extending Period Within Which the Commission Appointed to Inquire Into and Report Upon the Law of New Zealand Relating to Patents, Designs, and Trade-marks shall Report

To all to whom these presents shall come and to : HERBERT EDGAR EVANS, GEORGE WILLIAM CLINKARD, ANDREW JOHN PARK, STUART WENTWORTH INNES-KER PETERSON, and JOHN RALFE SMITH : Greeting.
WHEREAS by Warrant dated the twenty-eighth day of April, one thousand nine hundred and forty-eight, you, the said Herbert Edgar Evans, George William Clinkard, Andrew John Park, Stuart Wentworth Innes-Ker Peterson, and John Ralfe Smith
were appointed under the authority of the Commissions of Inquiry Act, 1908, and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, to be a Commission of Inquiry for the purposes in the said Warrant set out :
And whereas by the said Warrant you were required to report to me not later than the thirty-first day of January, one thousand nine hundred and forty-nine, your findings and opinions on the matters referred to you :
And whereas by further Warrant dated the twenty-sixth day of January, one thousand nine hundred and forty-nine, the time within which you were so required to report was extended until the thirty-first day of July, one thousand nine hundred and forty-nine :
And whereas by further Warrant dated the twenty-seventh day of July, one thousand nine hundred and forty-nine, the time within which you were so required to report was extended until the thirty-first day of December, one thousand nine hundred and forty-nine :
And whereas it is expedient that the time for so reporting should be extended as hereinafter provided :
Now, therefore, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred upon me by the Commissions of Inquiry Act, 1908, and of all other powers and authorities enabling me in this behalf, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, do hereby extend until the thirtieth day of June, one thousand nine hundred and fifty, the time within which you are so required to report:
And in further pursuance of the said powers and authorities and with the like advice and consent, I do hereby confirm the said Commission and the three respective Warrants hereinbefore referred to except as altered by these presents.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the Seal of that Dominion this 21st day of December, 1949.

WHEREAS by the one hundred and sixty-seventh section of the Land Act, 1948, it is enacted that the Governor-General may from time to time set apart as a reserve, notwithstanding that the same may be then held under pastoral lease or pastoral occupation licence, any Crown land for any purpose which, in his opinion is desirable in the public interest and notice thereof shall be published in the Gazette.
Now, therefore, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the said Act, do hereby reserve the lands in the North Auckland, South Auckland, Hawke's Bay, Taranaki, Wellington, Nelson, Marlborough, Otago, and Southland Land Districts, described in the Schedule hereunder written, for the purposes specified at the end of the respective descriptions of the lands so intended to be reserved.

NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT
SECTION 81, Block X, Mangamuka Survey District : Area, 6 acres 1 rood 31·79 perches, more or less. (North Auckland plan S.O 20286.) (Recreation.)
