INVERCARGILL CITY COUNCIL
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf
by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, and of all other powers
(if any) it thereunto enabling, the Invercargill City Council hereby
resolves as follows :—
“That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of
principal, interest, and other charges on the Invercargill City Council
Conversion Redemption Loan No. 7, 1950, of £16,250, authorized
to be raised by the Invercargill City Council under the above-
mentioned Act, for the purpose of repaying on the 1st November,
1950, the debentures issued pursuant to clause 16 of the Invercargill
City Loans Conversion Order 1934, and maturing on the 1st Novem-
ber, 1955, the said Council hereby makes and levies a special rate
of decimal four one nine pence (.419d.) in the pound on the rateable
value on the basis of the unimproved value of all rateable property
in the City of Invercargill, and that such special rate shall be an
annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be
payable on the first day of November in each and every year during
the currency of such loan, being a period of five years or until the
loan is fully paid off.”
I hereby certify that the above is a true and correct copy of
a resolution passed at a meeting of the Invercargill City Council
held on Tuesday, 21st March, 1950.

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND
In the matter of the Public Works Act, 1928, and the Acts
amending the same.
NOTICE is hereby given that the Mayor, Councillors, and Citizens
of the City of Christchurch, a body corporate under the
Municipal Corporations Act, 1933, proposes to take, under the
provisions of the Public Works Act, 1928, and its amendments,
for the purposes of a recreation reserve, all those parcels of land
situated in Block XV of the Christchurch Survey District, containing
together 36 acres 1 rood and 0·7 perches, being Lot 2 and parts of
Lot 1, on Deposit Plan 11796, part Rural Sections 4349, 34653,
34654, 36833, 2147, 36834, and 37141, and being the lands shown
coloured sepia on the plan deposited in the office of the Chief
Surveyor, at Christchurch, and thereon numbered S.O. 8203.
And notice is hereby further given that a plan showing the
land required to be taken and the names of the owners and occupiers
of such land is deposited at the offices of the Town Clerk at Christ-
church, where it lies open for public inspection daily without fee
during all reasonable hours, and that all persons affected shall, if
they have objections to the taking of such land, set forth in writing
such objection, and send such writing, within forty days from the
date of the first publication of such notice, being the 3rd day of
April, 1950, addressed to the Town Clerk, Christchurch.

In the matter of the Public Works Act, 1928, and of the
Counties Act, 1920.
NOTICE is hereby given, under the provisions of the Public
Works Act, 1928, that the Hobson County Council proposes,
under the provisions of the above-mentioned Acts, to take the
pieces of land described in the First Schedule hereto for the purposes
of a public road, and to close the pieces of road described in the
Second Schedule hereto, and to apply for an Order in Council
consenting to the taking of the said pieces of land and the closing
of the said pieces of road : And notice is hereby further given that
a plan of the pieces of land so required to be taken and the pieces
of road so required to be closed is deposited in the public office of
the County Clerk to the said Council, situate in Normanby Street,
Dargaville, and is open for inspection without fee by all persons
during ordinary office hours.
