At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 15th day of March, 1950

THE HON. K. J. HOLYOAKE PRESIDING IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to section 31 of the Municipal Corporations Amendment Act, 1948, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby authorize the Tahunanui Town Board to lay-off the proposed street described in the Schedule hereto at a width, for part of its length, of less than sixty-six feet, but not less than fifty feet.

SCHEDULE

THAT proposed street off Muraitai Street in the Town District of Tahunanui, containing by admeasurement 1 rood 34·8 perches, more or less, being Lot 12, part Lots 1 and 9, D.P. 3010, Lot 2, D.P. 3691, and part Lot 2, D.P. 555, being part Section 12, Suburban South, Block IV, Waimea Survey District. As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 130748, deposited in the office of the Minister of Works at Wellington, and thereon coloured red.

Abolishing Ahikouka, Kahutara, South Wairarapa, Te Ore Ore, and Waiohine River Districts

ORDER IN COUNCIL

At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 15th day of March, 1950

Present:

THE HON. K. J. HOLYOAKE PRESIDING IN COUNCIL

WHEREAS requests were made pursuant to section one hundred and forty-one of the Soil Conservation and Rivers Control Act, 1941, that the Ahikouka, Kahutara, South Wairarapa, Te Ore Ore, and Waiohine River Districts be abolished :

And whereas, pursuant to section twenty-four of the Local Government Commission Act, 1946, such requests were referred to the Local Government Commission, and the Commission has approved the proposals as final schemes bearing date the third day of March, one thousand nine hundred and fifty :

And whereas it is desirable that effect be given to the provisions of such final schemes :

Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on him by the Local Government Commission Act, 1946, and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby order and declare that as on and from the first day of April, one thousand nine hundred and fifty, the Ahikouka, Kahutara, South Wairarapa, Te Ore Ore, and Waiohine River Districts are hereby abolished ; and with the like advice and consent doth hereby further order and declare that the abolition of the said Ahikouka, Kahutara, South Wairarapa, Te Ore Ore, and Waiohine River Districts shall be deemed to have been effected under the Soil Conservation and Rivers Control Act, 1941, and the River Boards Act, 1908.

Altering Boundaries of Counties of Waipa and Raglan and Adding Area to Mangapiko Riding, County of Waipa

THE HON. K. J. HOLYOAKE PRESIDING IN COUNCIL

WHEREAS, at the request of certain ratepayers in the County of Raglan, the Local Government Commission, in pursuance of the provisions of the Local Government Commission Act, 1946, has considered certain proposals for an alteration of the boundaries of the County of Waipa and the County of Raglan :

And whereas, in pursuance of the provisions of the said Act, the Local Government Commission has approved as final a scheme bearing date the twenty-ninth day of November, one thousand nine hundred and forty-nine, providing for the exclusion of the area described in the Schedule to the said scheme from the County of Raglan and for the inclusion of such area in the County of Waipa :

And whereas it is deemed expedient to give effect to the final scheme as hereinafter appearing :

Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in him by the Local Government Commission Act, 1946, and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in that behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby declare that as on and from the first day of April, one thousand nine hundred and fifty, the area described in the First Schedule hereto shall be excluded from the County of Raglan and included in the County of Waipa ; that the boundaries of the Counties of Waipa and Raglan as so altered shall be those set forth under the respective headings in the Second Schedule hereto ; that the area added as aforesaid to the County of Waipa shall be included in the Mangapiko Riding of that county ; that the boundaries of the Mangapiko Riding as so altered shall be those set forth in the Third Schedule hereto ; and with the like advice and consent doth hereby also declare that the alteration of boundaries of the said counties hereinbefore made shall be deemed to have been effected under the Counties Act, 1920.

FIRST SCHEDULE

AREA EXCLUDED FROM COUNTY OF RAGLAN AND INCLUDED IN COUNTY OF WAIPA

ALL that area of approximately 7,000 acres in the Auckland Land District bounded by a line commencing at a point in Block IV, Pirongia Survey District, in the middle of the Waipa River, in line with the south-eastern boundary of Lot 4 on the plan numbered 24766, deposited in the office of the District Land Registrar at Auckland, being portion of Allotment 36, Pirongia Parish, and running southerly generally up the middle of the said river, to and up the middle of the Mangauika Stream to the northern boundary of Section 2 of Block IV aforesaid ; thence westerly generally along the northern boundaries of the said Section 2 and Section 11 of the said Block IV, and the northern and western boundaries of Section 9 of Block IV aforesaid and the western boundary of Section 10 of the said Block IV, to and along the northern and western boundaries of Kaipihia No. 5 Block, and the western boundaries of Kaipihia Nos. 4, 3, 2, and 1c Blocks to the north-eastern corner of part of Section 3 of Block VII, Pirongia Survey District ; thence north-westerly generally along the northern boundary of the said part of Section 3, the eastern and north-eastern boundaries of Section 18 of the said Block VII, and the north-eastern boundary of Mangauika No. A 1 Block to the south-eastern boundary of the area of 2,600 acres set apart as State forest by Proclamation published in New Zealand Gazette No. 1 of the 4th day of January, 1900, page 6 ; thence north-easterly generally along the south-eastern boundary of the said area of 2,600 acres, to and along the north-eastern boundary of Mangauika B No. 2 Section 2 Block, to and along the south-eastern side of the public road forming the north-western boundaries generally of Allotments 369, 427, 359, 360, part 355, 361, and 362, Pirongia Parish, to the western corner of Allotment 344 of the said parish ; thence easterly generally along the south-western and south-eastern boundaries of Allotment 344 aforesaid, along the southern boundaries generally of Allotments 345, 346, 347, 348, 349, 350, 47, 46, 45, 44, 43, and the southern and eastern boundaries of Allotment 41 to the southern corner of Lot 3 on the plan numbered 24766 aforesaid, being part Allotment 36, all the aforesaid allotments being of Pirongia Parish ; thence along the southern boundary of Lot 3 aforesaid and a right line across a public road, to and along the south-eastern boundary of Lot 4 as shown on the aforesaid plan numbered 24766, being part of the aforesaid Allotment 36 and along a right line, being that boundary produced to the middle of the Waipa River, being the point of commencement.

SECOND SCHEDULE

COUNTY OF WAIPA

ALL that area in the South Auckland Land District bounded by a line commencing at the southernmost corner of South Suburban Section 109A, Town of Newcastle, where the generally southern boundary of Ngaruawahia Borough meets the right bank of the Waipa River, and running in an easterly direction generally along the southern boundary of the Ngaruawahia Borough, as described in the New Zealand Gazette No. 18 of the 17th day of February, 1921, page 501, to the middle of the Waikato River ; thence south-easterly generally up the middle of the Waikato River to its intersection with the generally northern boundary of the City of Hamilton ; thence generally westerly, southerly, and easterly along the boundary of the City of Hamilton, as described in the New Zealand Gazette No. 62 of the 27th day of October, 1949, page 2499, to the middle of the Waikato River aforesaid ; thence in a south-easterly direction generally up the middle of that river to a point in line with the western boundary of the Leamington Town District, as described in the New Zealand Gazette No. 56 of the 27th day of July, 1922, page 1853, along a right line to and along the western, southern, and eastern boundaries of the Leamington Town District, and along a right line, being the last-mentioned boundary produced to the middle of the Waikato River ; thence up the middle of the said Waikato River to a point in line with the north-western boundary of the land taken for development of water-power, New Zealand Gazette No. 15 of the 20th day of February, 1941, page 306, and being part of Pukekura No. 1 Block ; thence southerly generally along a right line, to and along the aforesaid north-western boundary, along a right line across a public road, to and along the north-western boundary of another part of Pukekura No. 1, along the north-western boundary of Section 1, Block XIV, Cambridge Survey District, the north-western boundary of another part of Pukekura No. 1, the north-western boundaries of Pukekura Nos. 2, 3, 4, 5, Section 1 and 6 Blocks, along the south-western boundary of Pukekura No. 7 Block, the north-western boundary of Pukekura No. 8A Block, the north-western and south-western boundaries of Pukekura No. 9 Block, and along the south-western boundaries of Pukekura Nos. 10, 11, 12, part 13, and part 14 Blocks, to the southern corner of the last-mentioned block ; thence along a right line to Trig. Station 1427, Maungatautari, in Block VII, Maungatautari Survey District ; thence along a right line running direct for Trig. Station 807, Uraura, in Block VII, Ngautuku Survey District, to its intersection by the middle of the Waikato River ; thence up the middle of the Waikato River aforesaid and Arapuni Lake to a point in line with the northern boundary of Section 10, Block IV, Wharepapa Survey District ;
