Notice to Persons Affected by Applications for Licences Under Part III of the Industrial Efficiency Act, 1936

Pharmacy Industry

L. A. Neill, 19 Rawiri Street, Gisborne, has applied for a licence to operate a new pharmacy near the corner of Gladstone and Stanley Roads, Gisborne.

Retail Sale and Distribution of Motor-spirit

Woolley Bros. (Tuakau), Ltd., Tuakau, has applied for a licence to resell motor-spirit from two pumps to be installed on garage premises at the corner of George Street and Jellicoe Avenue, Tuakau.

Whyte and Leith, Kopeo Motors, King Street, Whakatane, have applied for a licence to resell motor-spirit from two pumps to be installed on garage premises at King Street, Whakatane.

F. S. Stevenson and F. Leach, Ohura Timber Co., Wartonga Road, Ohura, have applied for a licence to resell motor-spirit from one pump to be installed on premises at Wartonga Road, Ohura.

W. F. Harrison, Main Street, Herbertville, has applied for a licence to resell motor-spirit from one pump to be installed on store premises at Main Street, Herbertville.

Dannevirke Steam Laundry, Ltd., 1 Cole Street, Dannevirke, has applied for permission to take over from Waiaruhe Co-op. Dairy Co., Ltd., motor-spirits retail licence in respect of one pump installed on dairy factory premises at Waiaruhe.

Applicants and other persons considering themselves to be materially affected by the decisions of the Bureau of Industry on these applications should, not later than 12th January, 1950, submit any written evidence and representations they may desire to tender. All communications should be addressed to Secretary, Bureau of Industry, C.P.O. Box 3025, Wellington.

The Land and Income Tax (Annual) Act, 1949

LAND-TAX PAYABLE BY INDIVIDUALS

IN accordance with Order-in-Council dated 21st September, 1949, I hereby notify that land-tax leviable under the above Act on land held by individuals is payable at any office of the Land and Income Tax Department or at any money-order post-office in one sum on Monday, 16th January, 1950. The liability is not suspended by any objection, and the tax must be paid on or before Monday, 6th February, 1950, to avoid the additional percentage; any over-payment will be refunded.

Demands will be issued on or about 9th January, 1950, and must be presented with all payments.

Law Practitioners Amendment Act, 1935

PURSUANT to the Law Practitioners Amendment Act, 1935, notice is hereby given that the Disciplinary Committee of the New Zealand Law Society on the 8th day of December, 1949, ordered that the name of Campbell Wylie, formerly of Kaikohe but now of Kuala Lumpur, Malaya, be removed at his own request from the roll of Solicitors of the Supreme Court of New Zealand to enable him to apply for admission as a Student of an Inn of Court with a view to being called to the English Bar.

Appointment of Deputy District Public Trustee

NOTICE is hereby given that, in pursuance of the power and authority vested in me by section 3 of the Public Trust Office Amendment Act, 1921–22, I, the Public Trustee of the Dominion of New Zealand, have appointed John Gordon McGhie, of the Public Trust Office, Wellington, to be deputy of the District Public Trustee, Wellington, during the absence of such District Public Trustee from his headquarters from any cause, and all previous Warrants appointing any deputy of the said District Public Trustee have been revoked.
