Land Reserved in the South Auckland Land District for Recreation Purposes

WHEREAS by the one-hundred and sixty-seventh section of the Land Act, 1948, it is enacted that the Governor-General may from time to time set apart as a reserve, notwithstanding that the same may be then held under pastoral lease or pastoral occupation licence, any Crown land for any purpose which, in his opinion, is desirable in the public interest and notice thereof shall be published in the Gazette :
Now, therefore, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the said Act, do hereby reserve the land in the South Auckland Land District, described in the Schedule hereunder written, for recreation purposes.

ALLOTMENT 623, Taupiri Parish, situated in Block XV, Rangiriri Survey District: Area, 8 acres 2 roods, more or less. (South Auckland plan S.O. 32150.)

Setting Apart Unalienated Crown Land for Purposes of Part III (State Coal-mines) of the Coal-mines Act, 1925

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by subsection one of section one hundred and sixty-seven of the Coal-mines Act, 1925, and of all other powers and authorities enabling me in this behalf, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare that the unalienated Crown land, described in the Schedule hereto, is hereby set apart for the purposes of Part III of the said Act, and do hereby further declare that this notice shall take effect as from the date of the publication hereof in the New Zealand Gazette.

Major J. F. G. Stark, E.D., 3rd Field Regiment, R.N.Z.A., is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, General List, The Royal N.Z. Artillery, with the rank of Major, with seniority from 26th February, 1935. Dated 1st May, 1949.
Captain S. T. Nolan, E.D., 4th Medium Regiment, R.N.Z.A., to be Major. Dated 17th September, 1949.
Temp. Captain C. G. W. Quilter, from the Reserve of Officers, Supplementary List, to be Captain, with seniority from 20th November, 1947, and is posted to the 9th Coast Regiment, R.N.Z.A. Dated 1st December, 1949.
Lieutenant R. J. Cranch, from the Reserve of Officers, Supplementary List, to be Lieutenant, with seniority from 8th December, 1947, and is posted to the 1st Field Regiment, R.N.Z.A. Dated 1st December, 1948.
