Notice of Intention to Take Land in the Borough of Cambridge for Housing Purposes

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1928, to take the land described in the Schedule hereto for housing purposes: And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the post-office at Cambridge and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Works at Wellington.

The Lemon Marketing Regulations 1940.—Notice Fixing Prices of Certain Grades

PURSUANT to Regulation 5:1 of the Lemon Marketing Regulations 1940, I hereby fix the following prices per loose bushel to be paid by the Marketing Department for lemons delivered to the Department during the undermentioned period.

The Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943.—Notice Declaring Lands Taken for the Settlement of Discharged Servicemen

WHEREAS, pursuant to section 24 of the Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943, notice was given of the intention of the Minister of Lands to take under Part II of the said Act the lands described in the First Schedule hereto, and a copy of the said notice was published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 22 on the 24th day of April, 1947, at page 492:

And whereas an objection was made by the owner in the manner prescribed by the said Act objecting to the taking of the said lands and claiming the right to retain part of the said lands:

And whereas the Minister of Lands did not revoke his notice of intention to take the said lands:

And whereas the Minister of Lands did agree to the retention by the owner of the area specified in the said objection:

And whereas the owner did withdraw the objection to the taking of the lands described in the Second Schedule hereto:

And whereas the Land Sales Committee did, on the 19th day of January, 1949, make an order determining the lands described in the said Second Schedule to be farm lands suitable or adaptable for the settlement of a discharged serviceman or of two or more discharged servicemen:

And whereas no appeal from the said order was made within the time prescribed by the said Act or within any further time allowed by the Court:

And whereas the owner has agreed to an amended vesting-date:

And whereas the said lands are not the lands of any serviceman who is for the time being serving outside New Zealand in any of His Majesty’s Forces or in any British ship:

Now, therefore, the Minister of Lands, acting in pursuance of section 27 of the said Act, doth hereby declare that the lands described in the said Second Schedule are taken for the settlement of discharged servicemen, and hereby specifies the 11th day of February, 1949, as the date on which the said lands shall be deemed to be vested in His Majesty the King.


FIRST SCHEDULE

WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT

ALL that area situate in Block VII, Otahoua Survey District, containing by admeasurement twenty-eight (28) acres, more or less, being Section 814, Whareama Block, and being all the land comprised and described in certificate of title, Vol. 22, folio 93 (Wellington Registry).

Also all that area situate in Block III, Otahoua Survey District, containing by admeasurement seven hundred and ninety-six (796) acres, more or less, being Pounui 82N, and being all the land comprised and described in certificate of title, Vol. 73, folio 186 (Wellington Registry).

Also all that area situate in Block III, Otahoua Survey District, containing by admeasurement one thousand three hundred and eighty-five (1,385) acres one (1) rood fourteen (14) perches, being part Taumata-Whakapono East Block and part Taumataraiia Block, and being the residue of the land comprised and described in certificate of title, Vol. 73, folio 187 (Wellington Registry).

Also all that area situate in Blocks III, VII, and VIII, Otahoua Survey District, containing by admeasurement six hundred and forty (640) acres five (5) perches, more or less, being part Taumata-Whakapono West Block and part Taumataraiia Block, and parts Sections 514 and 607, Whareama Block, and being all the land comprised and described in certificate of title, Vol. 341, folio 163 (Wellington Registry).


SECOND SCHEDULE

WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT

ALL that area containing by admeasurement two thousand and seventy-three (2,073) acres two (2) roods, more or less, being Pounui Block, Taumata-Whakapono East Block, part Taumata-Whakapono West Block, part Taumataraiia Block, Section 814, and parts Sections 514 and 607, Whareama Block, situate in Blocks III, IV, and VII, Otahoua Survey District, and being all the land comprised and described in certificates of title, Vol. 22, folio 93, and Vol. 73, folio 186, and parts of certificates of title, Vol. 73, folio 187, and Vol. 341, folio 163 (Wellington Registry).

As the same are more particularly delineated on the plan marked 21703, deposited in the office of the Chief Surveyor, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red

Notice to Persons Affected by Applications for Licences Under Part III of the Industrial Efficiency Act, 1936

Manufacture of Footwear

Pitmet Footwear, Ltd., 127 Parnell Road, Auckland, has applied for an extension of its existing licence so as to permit the manufacture of men’s footwear by the welted, fair-stitched, and machine-sewn processes, and boys’ football boots by the machine-sewn process.

Messrs. Wilson and Prosser, 112 Great North Road, Auckland, have applied for an extension of their existing licence permitting the manufacture of children’s sandals, size 4 to maids’ size 2, so as to permit the manufacture of women’s sandals, sizes 3’s to 7’s, and men’s sandals, sizes 5’s to 11’s.

Pharmacy Industry

L. T. Shiel, 36 Arran Street, Avondale, Auckland, has applied for a licence to operate a new pharmacy at Blockhouse Bay, Auckland.

Retail Sale and Distribution of Motor-spirit

H. W. Baker, Taupo Road, Matapuna, Taumarunui, has applied for a licence to resell motor-spirit from one pump to be installed outside garage premises at Matapuna, Taumarunui.

C. D. Hardy, Wharepapa (near Te Awamutu), has applied for a licence to resell motor-spirit from one pump to be installed on store premises at Wharepapa.

M. D. McRay, Totara North, has applied for a licence to resell motor-spirit from one pump to be installed outside store premises at Totara North.

K. J. Gray, Thames Street, Morrinsville, has applied for permission to move one petrol pump from inside garage premises to a position outside.

Applicants and other persons considering themselves to be materially affected by the decisions of the Bureau of Industry on these applications should, not later than 24th February, 1949, submit any written evidence and representations they may desire to tender.
