The Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943.—Notice of Intention to Take Land
THE Minister of Lands, acting in pursuance of section 24 of the Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943, hereby gives notice of his intention to take the land described in the Schedule hereto under Part II of the said Act, and specifies the 1st day of June, 1950, as the date on which possession of the land is required and the 23rd day of November, 1949, as the date on or before which objections may be made under section 25 of the said Act.
SCHEDULE
SOUTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT
ALL that parcel of land situated in Blocks VI and X, Komakorau Survey District, containing by admeasurement five hundred and ninety-seven (597) acres two (2) roods ten decimal three (10·3) perches, more or less, being Lots 8 and 10 on Deposited plan 13763, and part of Lots 15 and 16 on Deposited Plan 5144, being portion of the Block granted to the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, by grant dated the 20th July, 1876, and being all of the land described in certificate of title, Vol. 319, folio 287 (Auckland Registry).

The Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943.—Notice Declaring Land Taken for the Settlement of Discharged Servicemen
WHEREAS an application has been made for the consent of the Land Valuation Court to a transaction which relates to the land described in the Schedule hereto and to which Part III of the Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943, applies:
And whereas the Land Valuation Committee to which the application has been referred is of opinion that the land to which the application relates is farm land suitable for the settlement of discharged servicemen:
And whereas the said committee, not being satisfied that the Crown had decided not to acquire or arrange for the acquisition of the land, did on the 7th day of September, 1949, make an order determining the basic value of the land and no appeal from the said order was made within the time prescribed by the said Act or within any further time allowed by the Court:
And whereas the said land is not the land of any serviceman who is for the time being serving outside New Zealand in any of His Majesty’s Forces or in any British ship:
Now, therefore, the Minister of Lands, acting in pursuance of section 51 of the said Act, doth hereby declare that the said land is taken for the settlement of discharged servicemen, and hereby specifies the 1st day of February, 1950, as the date on which the said land shall be deemed to be vested in His Majesty the King.
SCHEDULE
NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT
ALL that parcel of land containing by admeasurement three hundred and forty-six (346) acres sixteen (16) perches, more or less, being Section 3, Block VIII, Punakitere Survey District, and part of Motatau 5E No. 1 Block in Blocks IV and VIII, Punakitere Survey District, and being all of the land described in certificate of title, Vol. 830, folio 15 (Auckland Registry).
Also all that parcel of land situated in Blocks IV and VIII, Punakitere Survey District, and Block V, Motatau Survey District, containing by admeasurement seven hundred and sixty-five (765) acres one (1) rood twenty decimal three (20·3) perches, more or less, being part of Lots 1 and 2 on Deposited Plan 10828, being part of Motatau No. 5G Block, and being all of the land described in certificate of title, Vol. 806, folio 190 (Auckland Registry).
Also all that parcel of land containing by admeasurement nine (9) acres one (1) rood six (6) perches, more or less, being Sections 4 and 5, Block VIII, Punakitere Survey District, and being all of the land described in certificate of title, Vol. 808, folio 179 (Auckland Registry).
Also all that parcel of land containing by admeasurement two (2) acres three (3) roods twenty-five (25) perches, more or less, being Sections 1 and 2, Block VIII, Punakitere Survey District, and being all of the land described in certificate of title, Vol. 469, folio 4, (Auckland Registry).

The Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943.—Notice Declaring Lands Taken for the Settlement of Discharged Servicemen
WHEREAS, pursuant to section 24 of the Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943, notice was given of the intention of the Minister of Lands to take under Part II of the said Act the lands described in the Schedule hereto, and a copy of the said notice was published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 15 on the 10th day of March, 1949, at page 708:
And whereas no objection was made in the manner prescribed by the said Act, objecting to the taking of the said lands:
And whereas the Land Valuation Committee did on the 17th day of May, 1949, make an order determining that the said lands are farm lands suitable or adaptable for the settlement of a discharged serviceman or of two or more discharged servicemen:
And whereas no appeal from the said order was made within the time prescribed by the said Act or within any further time allowed by the Court:
And whereas the owner has agreed to an amended vesting-date:
And whereas the said lands are not the lands of any serviceman who is for the time being serving outside New Zealand in any of His Majesty’s Forces or in any British ship:
Now, therefore, the Minister of Lands, acting in pursuance of section 27 of the said Act, doth hereby declare that the lands described in the said Schedule are taken for the settlement of discharged servicemen, and hereby specifies the 21st day of October, 1949, as the date on which the said land shall be deemed to be vested in His Majesty the King.

OTAGO LAND DISTRICT.—CLUTHA COUNTY
ALL those areas containing together one thousand eight hundred and twenty-nine (1,829) acres, one (1) rood and thirty (30) perches, more or less, previously stated to contain one thousand eight hundred and ten (1,810) acres, more or less, in the Schedule to the Notice of Intention to take land, published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 15 on the 10th day of March, 1949, at page 708, being parts of Sections 11 and 12, Block VII; Section 2 and parts of Sections 1, 3, 4, 6, 8, 10, and 12, Block VIII; parts of Sections 2 and 8, Block IX; part of Section 10, Block XI; Sections 1, 3, 11, and parts of Sections 2, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, and 12, Block XII; Sections 1, 4, and parts of Sections 2, 3, 5, and 6, and Lot 7, Deposited Plan 4761, being part of Sections 11 and 1113R, Block XIII; Sections 12 and 13, Block XV; Sections 1, 2, 3, 4, and 6, and parts of Sections 5, 7, 8, 9, 10, and 11, Block XVI; parts of Sections 1, 3, 5, 7, 8, 10, and 12, Block XVII; and closed roads, all in Clutha Survey District, and being all the land comprised and described in certificates of title, Vol. 10 folio 269, subject to Order in Council No. 2461, exempting a road on northern boundary from the provisions of section 117 of the Public Works Act, 1908, Vol. 24 folio 247, Vol. 294, folio 58, together with a right in favour of part to divert the waters of the Waitepeka Stream through part Sections 1, 3, 14, 16, and 17, Block XXII, Clutha Survey District, and other rights for a term of ninety-nine years from 1st March, 1903, granted by Deed 96867, Vol. 321, folio 22, and parts of the land comprised and described in certificates of title, Vol. 169, folio 258, Vol. 230, folio 19, Vol. 230, folio 298, and Vol. 252, folio 45, limited as to parcels, subject to outstanding Deed of Grant Licence and Covenant 96867, dated 17th August, 1906, creating easements, and subject to Order in Council 2461, exempting roads from the provisions of section 117 of the Public Works Act, 1908, and Order in Council 5343, exempting roads from the provisions of section 128 of the Public Works Act, 1928, subject to a condition as to building-line (Otago Registry). As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked S.O. 2439, deposited in the office of the Chief Surveyor at Dunedin, and thereon bordered red.

Consent to Erection of “Stop” Sign by the One Tree Hill Borough Council
PURSUANT to clause (5) of Regulation 3 of the Traffic Sign Regulations 1937, the Minister of Transport doth hereby consent to the erection of a traffic sign of Class E. by the One Tree Hill Borough Council at the place described in the Schedule hereto, as the said place is more particularly indicated on Plan No. TT. 1710, deposited in the office of the Commissioner of Transport at Wellington.

In the Borough of One Tree Hill at a place in Green Lane Road near its intersection with Manukau Road.

Approval of Testing Officers Under the Motor-drivers Regulations 1940
IN terms of Regulation 5 of the Motor-Drivers Regulations 1940, the Minister of Transport doth hereby approve of the persons named in Column 2 of the Schedule hereunder, being Testing Officers under the said regulations for the Authority specified in Column 1 of the said Schedule.
