Initial appointments will be at a maximum of £350 or £400 according to qualifications, and higher maxima will be considered in individual cases.

(⁴) Position graded in Educational Division. (⁵) In accordance with the scales for teachers; single officers will receive £50 per annum less than scales shown.
NOTE.—For single male Attendants, farm workers, and artisans at institutions a deduction of £60 per annum for board and quarters will be made. For Matrons, Cottage Matrons, Sub-Matrons, Cooks, Laundresses, Seamstresses, Attendants, and Housemaids at institutions a deduction of £60 per annum for board and quarters will be made. For Principals, Vice-Principals, Housemasters, and Housemistresses at institutions a deduction of £40 per annum for board and quarters will be made, or £55 per annum for Matrons if separate sitting-room provided. In each case the salary shown is subject to the rate of deduction indicated in the “Remarks” column opposite the name of the individual officer.
