HIS Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to approve
of the following appointments, promotions, transfers, resign-
nations, relinquishments of commissions, and retirements of officers
of the New Zealand Military Forces :—

THE ROYAL N.Z. ARTILLERY

Regular Force—

Captain and Quartermaster A. Wainwright, having reached
the normal age for retirement, is transferred to the Supernumerary
List, N.Z. Regular Force, with his present rank and seniority.
Dated 27th September, 1949.

Territorial Force—

John Lindsay Mair (late Captain, Australian Imperial Force),
to be Captain, with seniority from 26th March, 1945, and is posted
to the 14th Composite Anti-Aircraft Regiment, R.N.Z.A. Dated
lst December, 1948.

Temp. Lieutenant J. H. Walter, 3rd Field Regiment, R.N.Z.A.,
is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, Regimental List, 3rd Field
Regiment, R.N.Z.A., with the rank of Lieutenant, with seniority
from 25th July, 1943. Dated lst May, 1949.

Temp. Lieutenant E. F. Furlonger, lst Field Regiment,
R.N.Z.A., is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, General List,
The Royal N.Z. Artillery, with the rank of Lieutenant, with
seniority from 4th May, 1945. Dated lst May, 1949.

THE ROYAL N.Z. ARMOURED CORPS

Territorial Force—

Major R. H. Kerr, from the Reserve of Officers, Supplementary
List, to be Major, with seniority from 2nd April, 1947, and is posted
to the lst Divisional Regiment, R.N.Z.A.C. (New Zealand Scottish).
Dated lst December, 1948.

Captain D. F. Phillips, from the Retired List, to be Captain,
with seniority from 9th November, 1947, and is posted to the lst
Armoured Regiment, R.N.Z.A.C. (Waikato). Dated lst December,

2nd Lieutenant R. H. Goodall, from the Reserve of Officers,
Supplementary List, to be 2nd Lieutenant, with seniority from

Temp. Major E. W. Kerr, 3rd Armoured Regiment, R.N.Z.A.C.,
is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, General List, The Royal
N.Z. Armoured Corps, with the rank of Major, with seniority from

Temp. Major W. P. Hayes, lst Armoured Regiment, R.N.Z.A.C.
(Waikato), is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, Regimental
List, 2nd Armoured Regiment, R.N.Z.A.C., with the rank of Major,
with seniority from 13th May, 1947. Dated lst May, 1949.

2nd Lieutenant (temp. Captain) H. H. Elworthy, 3rd Armoured
Regiment, R.N.Z.A.C., is transferred to the Reserve of Officers,
Regimental List, 3rd Armoured Regiment, R.N.Z.A.C., with the
rank of Captain, with seniority from 16th December, 1941. Dated

Temp. Captain C. W. Green, 2nd Armoured Regiment,
R.N.Z.A.C., is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, Regimental

Temp. Captain D. M. Patterson, B.E. (Civil), 3rd Field Squadron,
R.N.Z.E., is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, Regimental
List, the Royal N.Z. Engineers, with the rank of Captain, with
seniority from 1st September, 1942. Dated lst May, 1942.

THE ROYAL N.Z. CORPS OF SIGNALS

Regular Force—

Major (temp. Lieutenant-Colonel) G. H. Heal, M.B.E., relin-
quishes the temporary rank of Lieutenant-Colonel on assuming the
appointment of Area Officer, Area 2, Tauranga. Dated 11th
September, 1949.
