NOTICE is hereby given that WATSON HERVEY MOTORS, LIMITED, has changed its name to HERVEY MOTORS, LIMITED, and that the new name was this day entered on my Register of Companies in place of the former name.

GISBORNE BOROUGH COUNCIL
NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND
IN the matter of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1933, and the Public Works Act, 1928, notice is hereby given that the Gisborne Borough Council proposes, under the provisions of the above-mentioned Acts to execute certain public work—namely, the augmentation of the Borough water-supply—and for the purpose of the said public work the lands described in the Schedule hereto are required to be taken. And notice is hereby further given that a plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the public office of the Town Clerk, Gisborne Borough Council, Read’s Quay, Gisborne, and is open for inspection, without fee, by all persons during ordinary office hours.
All persons affected by the execution of the said public work or the taking of such lands who have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or the taking of the said lands, must state their objections in writing, and send the same, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Town Clerk at the Council Chambers, Read’s Quay, Gisborne.

APPROXIMATE area of parcel of land required to be taken: 3 roods 36·5 perches.
Being Lot 1, D.P. 3892, part Punianga 3A 2, Block VII, Nuhaka North Survey District; coloured orange.

THE WELLINGTON CITY DRAINAGE AND SEWERAGE LOAN 1928 RENEWAL LOAN 1949 OF £49,000
Resolution Making Special Rate
THE following resolution was duly passed at a meeting of the Wellington City Council held on the 14th day of September, 1949, viz.:—
In pursuance and in exercise of the powers and authorities vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926 and its amendments the Wellington City Council hereby resolves as follows:—
That for the purpose of providing the interest sinking fund and other charges on a loan for Forty-nine thousand pounds (£49,000) to be known as the Wellington City Drainage and Sewerage Loan 1928 Renewal Loan 1949 authorized to be raised by the Wellington City Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of redeeming at maturity to the extent that sinking funds are insufficient the outstanding liability in respect of the Wellington City Drainage and Sewerage Loan 1928 Renewal Loan 1939 of £68,000 the Wellington City Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of Forty-three eight-hundredths of a penny (⁴³⁄₈₀₀d.) in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property within the whole of the City of Wellington and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and shall be payable yearly on the First day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan being a period of Thirteen (13) years from the First day of November 1949 or until the loan is fully paid off.

NOTICE is hereby given that by entry in the minute-book of the above company, dated the 12th day of September, 1949, and signed as provided in the case of a private company by section 300 (1) of the Companies Act, 1933, it was resolved as a special resolution that the company be wound up voluntarily, and that WILLIAM HARRISON, of 306 Southern Cross Building, Chancery Street, Auckland, be appointed liquidator.

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND UNDER THE PUBLIC WORKS ACT, 1928
NOTICE is hereby given that the Education Board of the District of Wellington requires to take the land described in the Schedule hereto for a public work—namely, a public school site.
All persons affected by such taking are hereby required to set forth in writing any well-grounded objections to the execution of such work or to the taking of such land and to send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Secretary of the above-mentioned Board at his office at 65 Abel Smith Street, Wellington.
A plan of the said land is open for inspection at the following places: (a) At the office of the said Board at 65 Abel Smith Street, Wellington; (b) At the offices of Messrs. Brandon, Ward, and Hislop, Solicitors, 150–152 Featherston Street, Wellington.
SCHEDULE
THAT piece of land containing four acres two roods eighteen and eighty-one one-hundredths perches (4 acres 2 roods 18·81 perches), more or less, being part of Wiremutaone Section 8, Subdivision 28, Block XI, Belmont Survey District.

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND
In the matter of the Public Works Act, 1928, and the Municipal Corporations Act, 1933.
NOTICE is hereby given that the Mount Maunganui Borough Council intends to take, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1928, for the purpose of the erection of municipal administration buildings the following land—namely, all that piece of land situated in the Borough of Mount Maunganui, containing twenty-five decimal six (25·6) perches, more or less, being Lot 1 on Deposited Plan No. 28546, Auckland Land Registry, and part Section 2, Block VII, Tauranga Survey District, and being all the land comprised and described in certificate of title, Vol. 711, folio 233 (Auckland Registry).
A plan of the said land is deposited at the offices of the Mount Maunganui Borough Council, Pacific Avenue, Mount Maunganui, and is there open for inspection by all persons at all reasonable hours.
All persons affected are hereby required and called upon to set forth in writing any well-grounded objections to the taking of the said land, and to send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Mount Maunganui Borough Council at its said office, Pacific Avenue, Mount Maunganui.

NOTICE is hereby given that California Texas Investments, Limited, has resolved as a special resolution passed by entry in its minute-book under section 300 of the Companies Act, 1933, on the 19th day of September, 1949, that the company be wound up voluntarily and that a meeting of creditors of the company will be held at 12.30 p.m. on Tuesday, the 27th day of September, 1949, at the office of Bell, Gully, and Co., Solicitors, 104 Featherston Street, Wellington, at which a full statement of the position of the company’s affairs together with a list of the creditors of the company and the amount of their claims will be laid before the meeting, and at which meeting the creditors, in pursuance of section 235 of the said Act, may nominate a person to be liquidator of the company, and, in pursuance of section 236, may appoint a committee of inspection.
