Live shell practice will be carried out from Taiaroa Head, Dunedin, as follows: On the 4th, 5th, and 6th October, 1949, from 0900 hrs. to 1630 hrs. each day.

Position of gun: Lat. 45° 47′ S.; long. 170° 45′ E. (approx.).
Direction of fire: 010° to 090°
Range: 3 to 5 miles.
Maximum height of trajectory: 1,600 ft.

Previous Notice: New Zealand Notice to Mariners No. 26 of 1948 hereby cancelled, and the symbol for a submarine cable expunged.

Position: Waiheke Island, 360 ft. Summit Trig. Station. Lat., 36° 47′ 30″ S.; long., 175° 00′ 05″ E. (approx.).
Position (A): 093° distant 1 mile from the above trig. station.
Details: The symbol for a cable is to be inserted from position (A) above in a 210° direction for 3 miles; thence 242° for 4·3 miles to the shore at “The Mile Beach.”

Mariners are warned not to anchor in the vicinity of the above cable.

The Land and Income Tax (Annual) Act, 1949

LAND-TAX PAYABLE BY COMPANIES

IN accordance with Order in Council dated 21st September, 1949, it is hereby notified that land-tax on land held by companies, leviable under the above Act is payable at any office of the Land and Income Tax Department or at any money-order post-office in one sum on Friday, 7th October, 1949. The liability is not suspended by any objection, and the tax must be paid on or before Friday, 28th October, 1949, to avoid the additional percentage; any overpayment will be refunded.

Demands will be issued on or about 30th September, 1949, and must be presented with all payments.

LAND-TAX PAYABLE BY INDIVIDUALS

Land-tax on land held by individuals will not be due until 16th January, 1950. This due date will be advertised later.

CROWN LANDS NOTICE

Lands in the North Auckland Land District for Sale or Lease

North Auckland District Lands and Survey Office,
Auckland, 20th September, 1949.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned lands are open for sale or lease under the Land Act, 1948, and applications will be received at the North Auckland District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland, up to 4 o’clock p.m. on Monday, 24th October, 1949.

Applicants should appear personally for examination at the North Auckland District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland, on Thursday, 27th October, 1949, at 11.30 o’clock a.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any Commissioner of Crown Lands.

The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the examination of applicants, and the successful applicants are required to pay immediately at conclusion of ballot a deposit comprising the first half-year’s rent or deposit on deferred payments, broken-period rent, and lease fee.

SCHEDULE

Building Sites: Part Allotment 50, Opaheke Parish, Block XII, Drury Survey District, Franklin County
