and Blocks I and V, Weao Survey District, Rotorua and Taupo
Counties

A PROCLAMATION

Pursuant to section twenty-nine of the Public Works Amend-
ment Act, 1948, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril
Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand,
do hereby proclaim as closed the portion of road described in the
Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE

APPROXIMATE area of the piece of road closed: 74 acres 1 rood
22 perches.

Adjoining or passing through Run 57 and Run 59, Paeroa East
Block parts 3A and 4A on D.P. 20113, and 3c, Lots 1 and 2,
D.P. 27375, parts Lots 1, 2, 3, and 4, D.P. 20886, being part
Kaingaroa No. 1A North Block, and parts Kaingaroa No. 1A
North Block on D.P. 24867 and D.P. 27374.

Situated in Blocks IX and XIII, Kaingaroa Survey District,
and Blocks I and V, Weao Survey District (Auckland R.D.).

In the South Auckland Land District; as the same are more
particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 129109, deposited
in the office of the Minister of Works at Wellington, and thereon
coloured green.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General
of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the Seal
of that Dominion, this 14th day of September, 1949.

Road Traversing Maori Land Proclaimed as a Public Road in
Block XXV, Jacob's River Hundred, Southland Land District

A PROCLAMATION

WHEREAS the road described in the Schedule hereto traverses
Maori land:

And whereas the Maori Land Court, by an order made on the
eighth day of March, one thousand nine hundred and forty-nine,
and issued pursuant to section four hundred and eighty-four of
the Maori Land Act, 1931, ordered and declared the said road to
be a public road:

And whereas the said Court is of the opinion that it is in the
public interest that the said road should be proclaimed as a public
road, and a notification to that effect has been forwarded to the
Minister of Lands in terms of section four hundred and eighty-six
of the Maori Land Act, 1931:

And whereas it is now expedient that the said road should be
proclaimed as a public road:

Now, therefore, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril
Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand,
in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by section four
hundred and eighty-seven of the Maori Land Act, 1931, do hereby
proclaim as a public road the road described in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE

APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land proclaimed as a road: 1 rood
32ยท1 perches.

Being part of Carrol Street adjoining Subdivisions 50 and Part 80,
Aparima Maori Reserve, (Section 183) Block XXV, Jacob's
River Hundred. (S.O. plan 5716.)

In the Southland Land District; as the same is more parti-
cularly delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 16/2917B, deposited
in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington,
under No. 3034, and thereon coloured sepia.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General
of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the Seal
of that Dominion, this 16th day of September, 1949.

and has been formed, improved, or maintained out of public funds:

And whereas the Maori Land Court, by an order made on the
seventeenth day of April, one thousand nine hundred and forty-
seven, and issued pursuant to section four hundred and eighty-four
of the Maori Land Act, 1931, ordered and declared the said road
to be a public road:

And whereas the said Court is of the opinion that it is in the
public interest that the said road should be proclaimed as a public
road, and a notification to that effect has been forwarded to the
Minister of Lands in terms of section four hundred and eighty-six
of the Maori Land Act, 1931:

And whereas it is now expedient that the said road should be
proclaimed as a public road:

of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the Seal
of that Dominion, this 16th day of September, 1949.

Crown Land Set Apart as Provisional State Forest

A PROCLAMATION

By virtue and in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred
upon me by section eighteen of the Forests Act, 1921-22, I,
Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-
General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby set apart the
Crown land described in the Schedule hereto as a provisional State
forest.

SCHEDULE

NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.โ€”AUCKLAND CONSERVANCY

ALL that area in the North Auckland Land District, Whangaroa
County, containing by admeasurement 649 acres 2 roods 27 perches,
more or less, situated in Blocks IX and X, Kaeo Survey District,
being Allotments 141 and 142, Parish of Pupuke, and Lots 1, 2, and 3,
shown on plan numbered 22563, deposited in the office of the District
Land Registrar at Auckland, and being parts of Allotments S. 16
and 17, Parish of Matawherohia. As the same is more particularly
delineated on plan No. 5/40, deposited in the Head Office of the
State Forest Service at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General
of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the Seal
of that Dominion, this 9th day of September, 1949.

Revocation of the Reservation of a Permanent State Forest

A PROCLAMATION

WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto (herein-
after designated the said land) is portion of two areas
containing respectively five thousand seven hundred and thirty-five
acres and eight thousand seven hundred and fifty acres reserved for the
purposes of a permanent State forest by a Warrant dated the
twenty-sixth day of July, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-one,
and published in the Gazette of the twenty-eight day of July, one
thousand eight hundred and eighty-one, at page 960:

And whereas the said land is not now required for the purposes
of a State forest, and it is desirable and expedient that its reservation
for the purpose be revoked:

And whereas, in accordance with the provisions of section nine-
teen of the Forests Act, 1921-22, the Legislative Council and the
House of Representatives have by resolutions passed on the eleventh
day of October, and the twenty-eighth day of November, one thousand
nine hundred and forty, respectively agreed to the reservation over
the said land being revoked:

Now, therefore, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Frey-
berg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, by
virtue and in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon
me by the Forests Act, 1921-22, do declare that the reservation
over the said land for the purposes of a permanent State forest is
hereby revoked.
