General Rates
CLASS A.—On the unimproved value of all land classified as Class A by the persons appointed to classify lands under section 3 of the Swamp Drainage Amendment Act, 1928, sevenpence and thirty-eight one-hundredths of a penny (7·38d.) in the pound.
CLASS B.—On the unimproved value of all land so classified as Class B, fivepence and seventy-four one-hundredths of a penny (5·74d.) in the pound.
CLASS C.—On the unimproved value of all land so classified as Class C, threepence and twenty-eight one hundredths of a penny (3·28d.) in the pound.

Poukawa Drainage Area: Notice of Making and Levying General Rates
I, CLARENCE FARRINGDON SKINNER, Minister of Lands, in the exercise of the powers conferred upon me by the Swamp Drainage Act, 1915, and its amendments, do hereby make and levy on the unimproved value of all lands within the Poukawa Drainage Area, constituted under the said Act, the general rates described in the Schedule hereto, such rates being for the purpose of covering for the period from 1st day of April, 1949, to 31st day of March, 1950, the cost of administration of the said Act, including the maintenance of works constructed under that Act in the said area, and I direct that the said rates (together with the annually recurring special rates already made and levied) will be payable in one sum on 30th day of August, 1949, to the Collector of Rates, Room 15, First Floor, Government Buildings, Customs Street West, Auckland. The rate-book is open for inspection at the office of the Collector of Rates, and a copy of the same is available for inspection at the office of the Commissioner of Crown Lands, Post-office Building, Napier, at all times at which those offices are open for the transaction of public business.
SCHEDULE
CLASS A.—On the unimproved value of all land classified as Class A by the person appointed to classify lands under section 3 of the Swamp Drainage Amendment Act, 1928, ninepence and ninety-four one-hundredths of a penny (9·94d.) in the pound.
CLASS B.—On the unimproved value of all land so classified as Class B, one penny and sixty-six one-hundredths of a penny (1·66d.) in the pound.
CLASS C.—On the unimproved value of all land so classified as Class C, thirty-three one-hundredths of a penny (0·33d.) in the pound.

Rangitaiki Land Drainage: Notice of Making and Levying General Rates
I, CLARENCE FARRINGDON SKINNER, Minister of Lands, in the exercise of the powers conferred upon me by the Rangitaiki Land Drainage Act, 1910, and its amendments, do hereby make and levy on the unimproved value of all land within the district constituted under the said Act the general rates to meet maintenance costs for the period 1st April, 1949, to 31st March, 1950, as described in the Schedule hereto.
The amount of such rates will be payable in one sum on 30th day of August, 1949, together with the special rates already made and levied.
The rate-book of the district is open for inspection at the office of the Collector of Rates, Room 15, First Floor, Government Buildings, Customs Street West, Auckland, and a copy of same may be inspected at the Land Drainage Office of the Ministry of Works, at Thornton, near Whakatane, at all times at which those offices are open for the transaction of public business.
SCHEDULE
CLASS A.—On the unimproved value of all lands classified as Class A by the arbitrators appointed under section 6 of the Rangitaiki Land Drainage Act, 1910, sixpence and thirty-one one-hundredths of a penny (6·31d.) in the pound.
CLASS B.—On the unimproved value of all lands so classified as Class B, fourpence and twenty-one one-hundredths of a penny (4·21d.) in the pound.
CLASS C.—On the unimproved value of all lands so classified as Class C, twopence and ten one-hundredths of a penny (2·10d.) in the pound.
Class D.—On the unimproved value of all lands so classified as Class D, seventy one-hundredths of a penny (0·70d.) in the pound.
