HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to the Soil Conservation and Rivers Control Act, 1941, and section seven of the Soil Conservation and Rivers Control Amendment Act, 1948, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby declare that the persons holding for the time being the offices of

Fields Instructor, Department of Agriculture, Rangiora,
Conservator of Forests, State Forest Service, Christchurch,
District Engineer, Ministry of Works, Christchurch,
Commissioner of Crown Lands for the Land District of Canterbury, Department of Lands and Survey, Christchurch, and
Senior Pedologist, Soil Bureau, Department of Scientific and Industrial Research, Christchurch,

shall be non-elective members of the North Canterbury Catchment Board.

Authorizing the Purchase by the North Auckland Electric-power Board of Certain Electric Works of the Borough of Whangarei

At the Government House at Wellington, this 20th day of July, 1949

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to section seventy-six of the Electric-power Boards Act, 1925, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby authorize the purchase by the North Auckland Electric-power Board (hereinafter referred to as the Board) of certain electric works, the property of the Mayor, Councillors, and Burgesses of the Borough of Whangarei (hereinafter referred to as the Borough), as described in the Schedule A to a letter dated the sixteenth day of March, one thousand nine hundred and forty-nine, from the Board to the General Manager of the State Hydro-electric Department, on the terms and conditions set forth in a certain agreement (hereinafter referred to as the agreement) bearing date the seventeenth day of November, one thousand nine hundred and forty-seven, and made between the Board of the one part and the Borough of the other part, of which agreement a copy has been deposited in the office of the Minister in Charge of the State Hydro-electric Department.

Revoking a Previous Order in Council and Reapportioning Representation on the North Auckland Electric-power Board

ORDER IN COUNCIL

At the Government House at Wellington, this 20th day of July, 1949

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to the Electric-power Boards Act, 1925, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council doth hereby revoke, as from the date of the next general election of the representatives of the constituent districts of the North Auckland Electric-power District, the Order in Council dated the twelfth day of April, one thousand nine hundred and forty-four, and published in the Gazette on the thirteenth day of the same month at page 359, apportioning representation on the Auckland Electric-power Board, and doth hereby determine in lieu thereof that on and after the said date the number of representatives of each constituent district of the said Board, shall be the number specified in the Schedule hereto opposite the name of that constituent district; and doth further determine that the constituent districts which are bracketed together in the first column of the Schedule hereto, are hereby constituted a combined district for the purposes of the said Act, and that the local authority of the constituent district distinguished in the first column of the Schedule hereto by the letter β€œ(P)” shall be the principal local authority of such combined district; and doth further determine that the first election of the representatives of the combined district of the Hikurangi Town District, the Kamo Town District, and part Whangarei Borough, shall be held on the date of the said next general election.
