PURSUANT to section 2 of the Official Appointments and Documents Act, 1919, it is hereby notified that His Excellency the Governor-General in Council has been pleased, under Part II of the Medical Act, 1908, to appoint
James McIntyre,
Superintendent of Police at Dunedin, to be Inspector for the School of Anatomy established at Dunedin under the Medical Act, 1908, in succession to Charles Harley, Superintendent of Police.

Appointment of Members of the Timber Production Advisory Committee
PURSUANT to the Timber Production Advisory Committee Regulations 1949,* the Commissioner of State Forests doth hereby appoint to the Committee under Regulation 5 (1) (c) of the said regulations the persons named in the First Schedule hereto, and doth also hereby appoint to the Committee under Regulation 5 (1) (d), (e), (f), and (g) of the said regulations for a period of twelve months expiring on 1st July, 1950, the persons named in the Second Schedule.

William Crabbe Ward, an officer of the State Forest Service.
Henry Parsonage, an officer of the Department of Labour and Employment.
Reginald Leigh McPhail, an officer of the Ministry of Works.

Date of Election by Fire-insurance Companies to Fill Extraordinary Vacancy on the Invercargill Fire Board

PURSUANT to the Fire Brigades Act, 1926, and the rules thereunder, the Minister charged with the administration of the said Act doth appoint Friday, the 22nd July, 1949, to be the date for holding the election of one member of the Invercargill Fire Board by the fire-insurance companies concerned, such election being held to fill the extraordinary vacancy caused by the resignation of Mr. A. M. C. Spooner.

Notice of Intention to Take Land in the City of Dunedin for a Kindergarten
NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1928, to execute a certain public work—to wit, the establishment of a kindergarten—and for the purposes of such public work the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken. And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the post-office at Forbury and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Works at Wellington.
SCHEDULE
APPROXIMATE area of the the piece of land required to be taken:
1 acre 0 roods 22·07 perches.
Being Lot 12, Deposited Plan 3732, part Section 46, Block VII of the Town District, and being all the land comprised and described in certificate of title, Vol. 230, folio 247.
Situated in the City of Dunedin.
In the Otago Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 129173, deposited in the office of the Minister of Works at Wellington, and thereon coloured red.
As witness my hand at Wellington, this 5th day of July, 1949.

Approval of Sign of Class DA Smaller Than Standard for Use in Wellington Streets
PURSUANT to Regulation 3 of the Traffic Sign Regulations 1937, the Minister of Transport doth hereby approve of the erection by the Wellington City Council of signs of Class DA, having dimensions 20 in. in height and 15½ in. in width, with a black line dividing the sign 7 in. from and parallel to the top of the sign and with the black letter P approximately 6 in. in height and the other lettering approximately 2¾ in. in height.
