NELSON CITY COUNCIL
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Nelson City Council hereby resolves as follows:—
“That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £3,000, known as the Gasworks Loan, 1949, authorized to be raised by the Nelson City Council under the above-mentioned Act, for the purchase of additional equipment for the Nelson Gasworks, the said Nelson City Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of eleven two-hundred-and-fifty-sixths of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value (being the unimproved value) of all rateable property of the City of Nelson, comprising the whole of the said city; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the 24th day of July in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of ten years or until the loan is fully paid off.”
The foregoing is a true copy of a resolution passed by the Nelson City Council at a special meeting, held on the 16th day of June, 1949.

MOUNT ROSKILL BOROUGH COUNCIL
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
NOTICE is hereby given of a resolution of the Mount Roskill Borough Council of 16th June, 1949, making a special rate as security for the annual charges on a renewal loan of £1,020. It was resolved as follows:—
“That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £1,020, authorized to be raised by the Mount Roskill Borough Council under section 17 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, to repay the balance of a special loan of £1,750, raised for sewerage drainage reticulation of a special area, the said Mount Roskill Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 3½d. in the pound on the unimproved value of all rateable property in the special area described below: All that area in the Mount Roskill Borough bounded by a line commencing at an angle on the existing boundary of the Auckland and Suburban Drainage District adjacent to Huntingtree Avenue; thence by a right line to the eastern corner of Lot Fifty-four (54), Deposited Plan No. 17448; thence south-westerly by the south-eastern boundary to the southern corner of the last-mentioned lot; thence in a north-westerly direction by the south-western boundaries of the aforesaid Lot Fifty-four (54) and Lots Fifty-three (53), Fifty-two (52), Fifty-one (51), Fifty (50), Forty-nine (49), Forty-eight (48), Forty-seven (47), Forty-six (46), Forty-five (45), Forty-four (44), Forty-three (43), Forty-two (42), and Forty-one (41), to and across a road reserve to the southern corner of Lot Forty (40); thence in a north-westerly direction by the south-western boundaries of Lots Forty (40), Thirty-nine (39), Thirty-eight (38), Thirty-seven (37), Thirty-six (36), Thirty-five (35), Thirty-four (34), Thirty-three (33), Thirty-two (32), Thirty-one (31), Thirty (30), Twenty-nine (29), a plantation reserve, Lots Twenty-eight (28), Twenty-seven (27), Twenty-six (26), Twenty-five (25), Twenty-four (24), Twenty-three (23), Twenty-two (22), Twenty-one (21), Twenty (20), and Nineteen (19) to their intersection with the south-eastern boundary of Lots Eighty-four (84) and Eighty-five (85), Deposited Plan 20551; thence south-westerly by the last-mentioned boundary to the southern corner of Lot Eighty-five (85); thence north-westerly by the south-western boundary of the last-mentioned lot to its intersection with the south-eastern alignment of Beagle Avenue; thence north-easterly by the last-mentioned alignment and its production to the existing boundary of the Auckland and Suburban Drainage District; thence south-easterly by the last-mentioned boundary to the point of commencement; such special rate to be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable on the 1st day of July in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of ten years or until the loan is fully paid off.”

WELLINGTON CITY COUNCIL
NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND
In the matter of the Cemeteries Act, 1908, the Public Works Act, 1928, and the Municipal Corporations Act, 1933, and their respective amendments.
NOTICE is hereby given that the Wellington City Council proposes, under the provisions of the above-named Acts and all other Acts, powers, and authorities enabling it in that behalf to execute a certain public work—namely, for the purpose of a cemetery at Makara Road, and South Makara Road in the Makara County—and for the purpose of such public work the lands described in the Schedule hereto are required to be taken; and notice is hereby further given that a plan of the lands so required to be taken is deposited in the public office of the Town Clerk to the said Council in the Town Hall, Cuba Street, in the said city, and is there open for inspection, without fee, by all persons during ordinary office hours; and that all persons affected by the execution of the said public work or the taking of such lands should, if they have well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of the said lands set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Wellington City Council, addressed to the Town Clerk, at his said office.

TAURANGA ELECTRIC-POWER BOARD
RESOLUTION LEVYING SPECIAL RATE
IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, and of all other powers, if any, it thereunto, enabling the Tauranga Electric-power Board hereby resolves as follows:—
“That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of the principal, interest, and other charges in respect of the Tauranga Electric-power Board Renewal Loan, 1949, £4,300, authorized to be raised by the Tauranga Electric-power Board by special order under the Electric-power Boards Act, 1925, the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Local Government Loans Board Act, 1926, and regulations made thereunder, for the purpose of redeeming the outstanding liability in respect of a portion of £7,400 of the Tauranga Electric-power Board Electrical Extension Loan, 1939, £50,000, the Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-tenth (1/10th) of a penny in the pound on the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property in the Tauranga Electric-power District; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable annually on the 1st day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of ten (10) years or until the loan is fully paid off.”
We hereby certify that the above is a true and correct copy of a minute of the proceedings of the Board held on the 15th day of June, 1949.

MANAWATU-OROUA ELECTRIC-POWER BOARD
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
Manawatu-Oroua Electric-power Board Electrical Reticulation Loan No. 4, 1949, £50,000
IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, and of all other powers, if any, it thereunto enabling, the Manawatu-Oroua Electric-power Board hereby resolves as follows:—
“That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of principal, interest, and other charges on the Manawatu-Oroua Electric-power Board Electrical Reticulation Loan No. 4, 1949, of £50,000, authorized to be raised by the Manawatu-Oroua Electric-power Board under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of further extending reticulation in the Board’s district, the said Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-eleventh (1/11th) of a penny in the pound on the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property in the Manawatu-Oroua Electric-power Board District as defined in the Proclamation appearing in the New Zealand Gazette on the 24th August, 1939; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the 1st day of July in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty (20) years or until the loan is fully paid off.”
The above resolution was duly passed at a meeting of the Manawatu-Oroua Electric-power Board held at Palmerston North, on the 13th day of June, 1949.
