CROWN LANDS NOTICE

Lands in the Westland Land District for Sale or Lease

District Lands and Survey Office,
Hokitika, 20th June, 1949.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned lands are open for selection under the Land Act, 1948, and applications will be received at the District Lands and Survey Office, Hokitika, up to 4 o’clock p.m. on Monday, 25th July, 1949. The sections may be purchased for cash or on deferred payments or selected on 33-year term lease with perpetual right of renewal.

Applicants should appear personally for examination at the Lands and Survey Office, Hokitika, on Tuesday, 26th July, 1949, at 1.30 o’clock p.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any Commissioner of Crown Lands.

The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the examination of applicants, and the successful applicants are required to pay immediately at conclusion of ballot a deposit comprising the first half-year’s rent or deposit on deferred payments, broken-period rent, and lease fee.

TOWN OF TAYLORVILLE.—BLOCK IX, MAWHERANUI SURVEY DISTRICT.—URBAN LAND

Grey County.—Westland Mining District

Lot 8 of Section 665: Area, 23·6 perches. Rental value or purchase-price, £20. Deposit on deferred payments, £5: Half-yearly instalment on deferred payments (term, fifteen years), 14s. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent (term, thirty-three years), 18s.

Lot 15 of Section 665: Area, 39·4 perches. Rental value or purchase-price, £25. Deposit on deferred payments, £5: Half-yearly instalment on deferred payments (term, fifteen years), 18s. 8d. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent (term, thirty-three years), £1 2s. 6d.

Lot 22 of Section 665: Area, 1 rood 3·5 perches. Rental value or purchase-price, £30. Deposit on deferred payments, £5: Half-yearly instalment on deferred payments (term, fifteen years), £1 3s. 4d. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent (term, thirty-three years), £1 7s.

The Town of Taylorville is within the Township of Brunnerton, a coal-mining centre on the Greymouth–Christchurch Railway and Main Road some eight miles from Greymouth. The sections comprise good residential sites.

Land in the Canterbury Land District Acquired for a Permanent State Forest

Wellington, 13th June, 1949.

NOTICE is hereby given that the land described in the Schedule hereto has been acquired under the Forests Act, 1921–22, for the purposes of a permanent State Forest.


SCHEDULE

CANTERBURY LAND DISTRICT.—CANTERBURY CONSERVANCY

ALL those areas in the Canterbury Land District, Kowai County, containing by admeasurement 431 acres 0 roods 24 perches, more or less, and described generally as follows:—

All that area containing by admeasurement 426 acres 0 roods 24 perches, more or less, situated in Blocks X and XI, Grey Survey District, being Rural Sections 29315, 29316, and 30121, part of Rural Sections 30122 and 33427, and Lot 2 on D.P. 1868, being part of Rural Section 37081, and being all the land comprised and described in certificate of title, Vol. 227, folio 60 (Canterbury Registry).

Also all that area containing by admeasurement 5 acres, more or less, situated in Block X, Grey Survey District, being part of Rural Section 5138, and being all the land comprised and described in certificate of title, Vol. 400, folio 62 (Canterbury Registry).

As the same are more particularly delineated on plan No. 136/8, deposited in the Head Office of the State Forest Service at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.
