HIS Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to approve of the following appointments, promotions, transfers, and retirements of officers of the New Zealand Military Forces:
THE ROYAL N.Z. ARTILLERY
Regular Force--
Lieutenant W. F. Cox to be Captain. Dated 13th May, 1949.
THE ROYAL N.Z. ARMOURED CORPS
Territorial Force--
Temp. Lieutenant A. R. Monson, 3rd Armoured Regiment, R.N.Z.A.C., to be Lieutenant, with seniority from 21st April, 1943. Dated 1st December, 1948.
Lieutenant T. H. Rutherford, from the Reserve of Officers, Supplementary List, to be Lieutenant, with seniority from 15th November, 1947, and is posted to the 3rd Armoured Regiment, R.N.Z.A.C. Dated 1st December, 1948.
2nd Lieutenant F. McI. Milne, M.M., from the Reserve of Officers, Supplementary List, to be 2nd Lieutenant, with seniority from 5th October, 1947, and is posted to the 3rd Armoured Regiment, R.N.Z.A.C. Dated 1st December, 1948.

With reference to the notice published in the N.Z. Gazette No. 33, dated 2nd June, 1949, relative to the promotion of Captain L. A. Kermode to Temp. Major, for "Dated 14th April, 1949," substitute "Dated 15th April, 1949."
Territorial Force--
The Auckland Regiment (Countess of Ranfurly's Own)--
Lieutenant (temp. Major) E. T. Pleasants, E.D., from the Reserve of Officers, Supplementary List, to be Major, with seniority from 28th March, 1947, and is seconded to the N.Z. Army Legal Department. Dated 1st April, 1949.
Temp. Lieutenant M. P. Henley, from the Nelson, Marlborough, and West Coast Regiment, to be Temp. Lieutenant, with seniority from 27th July 1943, and is seconded to the Sacred Heart College Cadets, Area 1. Dated 4th February, 1948.
Temp. Lieutenant M. P. Henley to be Temp. Captain and remains seconded to the Sacred Heart College Cadets. Dated 20th September, 1948.
Temp. Lieutenant D. J. Woods, 1st Battalion, is transferred to the Otago and Southland Regiment. Dated 30th May, 1949.
William Ferguson Morton to be 2nd Lieutenant (on prob.) and is seconded to the Avondale College Cadets, Area 1. Dated 16th August, 1948.
The North Auckland Regiment--
The undermentioned to be 2nd Lieutenants (on prob.) and are seconded to the Kaitaia District High School Cadets, Area 3: --

The Wellington Regiment (City of Wellington's Own)--
Major E. N. MacL. Hogben, E.D., ceases to be seconded to the Wellington College Cadets and is posted to the Retired List. Dated 2nd June, 1949.
Major H. R. C. Wild, from the Reserve of Officers, Supplementary List, to be Major, with seniority from 25th November, 1947, and is seconded to the N.Z. Army Legal Department. Dated 1st April, 1949.
Temp. Major G. A. Wylie, from the Reserve of Officers, Supplementary List, to be Major, with seniority from 28th May, 1948, and is seconded to the N.Z. Army Legal Department. Dated 1st April, 1949.
The Canterbury Regiment--
Captain P. H. Wood, from the Reserve of Officers, Supplementary List, to be Captain, with seniority from 29th July, 1947, and is seconded to the N.Z. Army Legal Department. Dated 1st April, 1949.
The Nelson, Marlborough, and West Coast Regiment--
Temp. Lieutenant M. P. Henley ceases to be seconded for duty as Officer Commanding No. 66 School Unit, Air Training Corps, Marist Brothers School, Greymouth, and is transferred to the Auckland Regiment (Countess of Ranfurly's Own). Dated 4th February, 1948.
The Otago and Southland Regiment--
Temp. Lieutenant D. J. Woods, from the Auckland Regiment (Countess of Ranfurly's Own), to be Lieutenant, with seniority from 6th March, 1945, and is posted to the 1st Battalion. Dated 30th May, 1949.
THE ROYAL N.Z. ARMY MEDICAL CORPS
Territorial Force--
Lieutenant-Colonel F. W. Kemp, O.B.E., M.C., E.D., M.D., M.R.C.S. (Eng.), L.R.C.P. (Lond.), is posted to the Retired List. Dated 3rd June, 1949.
Lieutenant (temp. Captain) C. H. Baird, M.B., Ch.B., from the Reserve of Officers, Supplementary List, to be Captain, with seniority from 30th May, 1946, and is posted to the 3rd Field Ambulance, R.N.Z.A.M.C. Dated 1st December, 1948.
THE ROYAL N.Z. CHAPLAINS DEPARTMENT
Territorial Force--
The Rev. D. H. Stewart, Chaplain, 4th Class (Baptist), to be Chaplain, 3rd Class, with seniority from 17th November, 1943, and is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, Regimental List, The Royal N.Z. Chaplains Department. Dated 25th May, 1949.
The Rev. K. H. Evans, Chaplain, 4th Class (Presbyterian), to be Chaplain, 3rd Class. Dated 25th October, 1948.
N.Z. ARMY LEGAL DEPARTMENT
Territorial Force--
Major H. R. C. Wild is seconded from the Wellington Regiment (City of Wellington's Own) and is appointed Legal Staff Officer, Army Headquarters, Wellington. Dated 1st April, 1949.
Major E. T. Pleasants, E.D., is seconded from the Auckland Regiment (Countess of Ranfurly's Own) and is appointed legal Staff Officer, Northern Military District. Dated 1st April, 1949.
Major G. A. Wylie is seconded from the Wellington Regiment (City of Wellington's Own) and is appointed Legal Staff Officer, Central Military District. Dated 1st April, 1949.
Captain P. H. Wood is seconded from the Canterbury Regiment and is appointed Legal Staff Officer, Southern Military District. Dated 1st April, 1949.
