PURSUANT to the Public Works Act, 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, and with the consent of the licensee, doth hereby revoke the Order in Council dated the eleventh day of January, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-eight, and published in the Gazette on the twentieth day of the same month at page 51, authorizing William Graham of Kiripaka, Whangarei, Farmer, to use water for the purpose of generating electricity.

PURSUANT to the Public Works Act, 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, and with the consent of the licensees, doth hereby revoke the Order in Council dated the twenty-seventh day of October, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-seven, and published in the Gazette on the twenty-eighth day of the same month at page 2405, authorizing Philip Wilfred Poulton and Edward Templer Poulton of Kumeroa, Woodville, Farmers, to use water for the purpose of generating electricity and to erect certain electric lines.

Altering and Redefining the Boundaries of the Pongakawa Rabbit District.—(Notice No. Ag. 4680)

ORDER IN COUNCIL

At the Government House at Wellington, this 15th day of June, 1949

Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

WHEREAS by section thirty-one of the Rabbit Nuisance Act, 1928, it is enacted that the Governor-General, at the request of the Board of any rabbit district, may, by Order in Council, alter and redefine the boundaries of its district :

And whereas the district known as the Pongakawa Rabbit District has been constituted under and for the purposes of the said Act :

And whereas the Board of the said district has, pursuant to the said section thirty-one of the said Act, requested that the boundaries of its district be altered and redefined by including an additional area therein :

And whereas the consent of a majority of the persons in such additional area qualified to be enrolled on the ratepayers' list for the said district has been given to the inclusion of such additional area in the said district :

And whereas it is deemed expedient to alter and redefine the boundaries of the said district accordingly :

Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by the said Act, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby—

(1) Alter and redefine the boundaries of the said district so constituted as aforesaid :

(2) Declare that the boundaries of the said district shall be those set forth in the Schedule hereto ; and, further,

(3) Declare that this Order in Council shall come into force on the day following publication hereof in the Gazette.

SCHEDULE

BOUNDARIES OF THE PONGAKAWA RABBIT DISTRICT

ALL that area of approximately 588,500 acres in the Auckland Land District, situated in the Tauranga, Rotorua, and Whakatane Counties, bounded by a line commencing on the shore of the Bay of Plenty at a point where it is joined by the left bank of the Rangitaiki River, and running southerly generally up the left bank of the said Rangitaiki River to the Rotorua-Waikaremoana Road near Murupara ; thence north-westerly generally along the north-eastern side of that road, to and across a public road, and along the north-western side of the last-mentioned public road to the southern boundary of part Karatia 3B 2A 2 Block ; thence along the southern and north-western boundaries of that Block, and along the western boundaries of Karatia part 3B 2B, 3A, part 3B 2B, 3B 1D, 3B 1C, 3B 1B, 3B 1A, 2A, 2B 1, 2B 2, 2B 3, 1B 2B, part 1B 2A, 1B 1, part 1B 2A, 1A 2, and 1A 1 Blocks, Section 1, Block V, Galatea Survey District, Rangipo and Rangipo No. 1 Blocks to the right bank of the Ngatamawahine Stream ; thence westerly generally along the said right bank to a point due south of the south-eastern corner of Section 2, Block II, Kaingaroa Survey District (Te Rere Trig. Station) ; thence along a right line to the said south-eastern corner, along the southern boundary of the aforesaid Section 2 and the southern boundary of Section 2, Block I, Kaingaroa Survey District, along part of the eastern and south-western boundaries of Rotomahana-Parekarangi 5B 1 Block, the south-western boundary of part Rotomahana-Parekarangi 5B 4B Block, and that boundary produced along a right line across a public road, along the south-western boundaries of another part 5B 4B Block aforesaid, Rotomahana-Parekarangi 5B 5B and 5B 5A Blocks, to and along the eastern and northern boundaries of part Rotomahana-Parekarangi 6B 2 Block, and part Paeroa 1A West Block (State Forest by Proclamation published in New Zealand Gazette, No. 5 of the 31st day of January, 1929, page 231), the northern boundary of Section 8, Block III, Paeroa Survey District, the south-eastern and south-western boundaries of Rotomahana-Parekarangi 6P 2B Block, and part of the south-eastern boundary of Section 8, Block XV, Tarawera Survey District, to the north-eastern side of the Rotorua-Waiotapu Road ; thence along the said north-eastern side to the south-western corner of Section 4, Block X, Tarawera Survey District ; thence along the western boundary of that section and along a right line being the last-mentioned boundary produced to the shore of Lake Rotokakahi ; thence along the south-eastern and north-eastern shores of that lake, the western side of Wairoa Road, and the eastern and northern shores of Lake Tikitapu, to and along the south-western and north-western boundaries of Rotomahana-Parekarangi 6L 2B 1 Block, the south-western side of Wairoa Road aforesaid, to and along the southern, western, and northern boundaries of Rotomahana-Parekarangi 6L 2B 3 Block, the south-western side of the aforesaid Wairoa Road and the southern side of the Rotorua-Whakatane Road, to and down the right bank of the Puarenga Stream, along the eastern shore of Lake Rotorua, to and along the northern bank of the Ohau Stream and the western shore of Lake Rotoiti, to and down the right bank of the Okere or Kaituna Stream to the shore of the Bay of Plenty aforesaid ; thence south-easterly generally along the said shore to the point of commencement.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to section one hundred and forty-nine of the Public Works Act, 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby consent to the Southland County Council stopping the portion of road described in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE

APPROXIMATE areas of the pieces of road permitted to be stopped :—

A. R. P. Adjoining or passing through
3 2 10·4 Lot 1, D.P. 1283, Section 49, and parts Sections 50, 59, and 60.
