OTOROHANGA COUNTY COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

Rural Housing Act, 1939

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926, the Otorohanga County Council hereby resolves as follows:—

“That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £10,000, authorized to be raised by the Otorohanga County Council under the above-mentioned Act, for Rural Housing, the said Otorohanga County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 0·235d. in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property in the County of Otorohanga, and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 14th day of August in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty-five years or until the loan is fully paid off.”

MATAURA BOROUGH COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Mataura Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:—

“First, that for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £10,000, authorized to be raised by the Mataura Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act, for the purposes shown hereunder, the said Mataura Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of fourpence halfpenny in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of the annual value) of all rateable property in the Borough of Mataura.

“List of Works

“(a) Footpath improvements in the borough (£3,200);
“(b) Sewer extensions in the borough (£3,400);
“(c) Water extensions in the borough (£1,400);
“(d) Public hall improvements (£600);
“(e) Purchase of machinery (£1,000);
“(f) General contingencies (£400).

“Second, that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the 1st day of August in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty years or until the loan is fully paid off.

“Third, that the interest to be paid on the said loan shall be at the rate of three pounds five shillings (£3 5s.) per centum per annum.

“Fourth, that debentures in conformity with the requirements of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, and numbered 1 to 40 be issued in connection with the said loan, and the debentures be sealed with the Common Seal of the Mayor, Councillors, and Burgesses of the Borough of Mataura, and that the Mayor be and is hereby authorized to sign such debentures, and that the Borough Treasurer be and is hereby authorized to countersign such debentures.”

WHANGAREI BOROUGH COUNCIL

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND

In the matter of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1933, and the Public Works Act, 1928.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Whangarei Borough Council proposes, under the provisions of the above-mentioned Acts, to execute certain public works—namely, land required for workers’ dwelling—and for the purposes of such public works the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken; and notice is hereby further given that a plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the public office of the Town Clerk to the said Council, situate in Bank Street, Whangarei, and is open for inspection (without fee) by all persons during ordinary office hours. All persons affected by the execution of the said public works or by the taking of such land must state their objection in writing, and send the same, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Town Clerk at the Council Chambers, Bank Street, Whangarei.
