SCHEDULE

DESCRIPTION OF BOUNDARIES OF THE WAIHAORUNGA RABBIT DISTRICT

ALL that area in the Waimate County, in the Canterbury Land District, containing 54,000 acres, more or less, commencing at a point at the junction of the Elephant Hill and Serpentine Valley Roads near Waihao Downs Railway-station; thence easterly along the main highway (Waimate Downs-Waimate Road) to the right bank of the Waihao River at Waihao Forks; thence along the said right bank of that river to the eastern boundary of R.S. 20184 (the boundary to this point follows along the Redcliff Rabbit Board District); thence continuing south-easterly along the right bank of the Waihao River to the road on the south boundary of R.S. 17868; thence continuing easterly along that road, passing to the south of R.S. 21854; thence in a northerly direction by the road on the east side of R.S. 21854 and passing through R.S. 20460, to and along the road forming the western boundary of Kapua Settlement to the Waihao Downs Railway; thence westerly along that railway, to and along the eastern boundary of Lot 4, Deposit Plan 1094, the southern and eastern boundaries of Lot 2, D.P. 1094, the eastern boundary of Lot 2, D.P. 1481, to the north-western boundary of R.S. 28211; thence by that boundary to and along the north-eastern and north-western boundaries of R.S. 20373; thence following a road in a westerly direction through R.S. 20373 aforesaid and R.S. 27904 and its production to the terrace forming the western boundaries of R.S.s 27904 and 23942 to the left bank of the north branch of the Waihao River; thence in a northerly direction by the left bank of that River to the northern boundary of R.S. 31752, Block III, Waihao S.D.; thence along that boundary and the western boundary of that Section, to and along the northern boundary of R.S. 36391 and Pastoral Run 234A and the western boundary of that run to the boundary of the Upper Waihao Rabbit District (N.Z. Gazette 1948, page 1479) at the north-east corner of R.S. 29413, Block V, Waihao S.D.; thence following along that boundary generally in a south-easterly direction to the south-east corner of R.S. 36394, Block X, Waihao S.D.; thence following along the southern boundary generally of Educational Reserve 2002 and its eastern boundary to Taven-dales Road, passing through R.S. 19959, and following the road along the north-eastern boundary of Tara Settlement and continuing through R.S.s 19951, 18844, 21753, and 18849, to and along the northern boundary of Douglas Settlement to the western boundary of Section 4 of that settlement; thence southerly by that boundary and south-westerly by the north-western boundary of Section 18 of Douglas Settlement to Serpentine Valley Road; thence south-easterly by that road to its junction with Elephant Hill Road, the point of commencement.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by section forty-four of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby appoint

Francis Richard Weal,

Raymond Mellon Thompson,

James Thorley,

Elsie Edith Weal, and

John Andrew Johnson

to be the Te Rahu Domain Board, having control of the land described in the Schedule hereto; and doth hereby appoint Tuesday, the seventh day of June, one thousand nine hundred and forty-nine, at eight o'clock p.m., as the time when, and the Te Rahu Hall, as the place where, the first meeting of the Board shall be held.

SCHEDULE

SOUTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.--TE RAHU DOMAIN

ALL those areas in the County of Waipa, situated in Block II, Puniu Survey District, containing by admeasurement a total of 4 acres l rood 33 perches, more or less, being part of Allotment 232 and part of Allotment 132, Parish of Puniu, and being the whole of the lands comprised and described in Certificates of Title, Volume 47, folio 266, and Volume 57, folio 128 (Auckland Land Registry).

As the same are more particularly delineated in the plan marked L. and S. 1/1227, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon edged red.

A, 3694 ft.; thence north-easterly by a straight line to the north-eastern corner of Block V, Earnslaw Survey District; thence westerly along the northern boundary of the said district to its western boundary; thence southerly along that western boundary to the northern boundary of Dart Survey District; thence westerly along the northern boundary of Dart Survey District to the centre of the main stream of the Dart River; thence generally southerly down the centre of the main stream of the Dart River to the shore of Lake Wakatipu; thence generally south-easterly along the shore of Lake Wakatipu to the point of commencement.

THE RIGHT HON. W. NASH PRESIDING IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to the Rabbit Nuisance Act, 1928, and to section twenty-nine of the Rabbit Nuisance Amendment Act, 1947, His Excellency the Governor-General, at the request of the Minister of Agriculture, made on the recommendation of the Rabbit Destruction Council, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby constitute and declare the area of land the boundaries of which are described in the Schedule hereto, being an area to which subsection one of section thirty of the Rabbit Nuisance Act, 1928, applies, a rabbit district, and doth appoint that the name of the said rabbit district shall be the Hakataramea Valley Rabbit District, and doth order that the basis on which the Rabbit Board to be established for the said district shall first levy its general rate shall be the acreage of land occupied by the ratepayer.

SCHEDULE

DESCRIPTION OF BOUNDARIES OF THE HAKATARAMEA VALLEY RABBIT DISTRICT

ALL that area in the Waimate County of the Canterbury Land District, containing 118,000 acres, more or less, bounded by a line commencing at a point at the confluence of the Rivers Hakataramea and Waitaki; thence to and along the centre of the River Waitaki in a north-westerly direction to and along the eastern boundary of the Buscot Rabbit District (New Zealand Gazette, 1948, pages 1479-80); thence following the rabbit-proof fence on the eastern boundary of Run 70A to the northern boundary of that run; thence by the rabbit-proof fence passing south-easterly through Run 64 to the western boundary of Rural Section 29528; thence by the western and northern boundaries of that section, the western and northern boundaries of Rural Section 30061, along the southern boundary of Rural Section 30039, the western and northern boundaries of Rural Section 30033, the western boundary of Run 63, and along the road forming the western boundary of Rural Sections 31330 and 30128, and by the road passing through the last-quoted section to the block-line between Blocks XI and XII, Mackenzie Survey District; thence northerly along that block-line to Dalgety Stream, the boundary of the Waimate County; thence by that county boundary in an easterly and southerly direction to the south-eastern boundary of Run 65; thence by that boundary and a line passing through Rural Section 29382, Block V, Nimrod Survey District, to the south-east corner of Rural Section 28505; thence by the southern boundary of that rural section and the eastern boundary of Rural Section 34137 to Peters Stream, by that stream to the centre of the River Hakataramea, and by the centre of that river to its confluence with the River Waitaki, the point of commencement.
