Draft New Zealand Standard Specification.—(Government Purchasing Series) D. 2409 G.P., Domestic Electric Cooking Ranges

NOTICE is hereby given that the above Draft New Zealand Standard Specification is now being circulated to affected interests for consideration and comment. The closing date fixed for such comment is the 15th July, 1949.

All persons who may be affected by this specification once it has been declared a Standard Specification by the Minister of Industries and Commerce may, at any time before the closing date for comments, obtain, on application, free copies from the New Zealand Standards Institute, Hamilton Chambers, 201 Lambton Quay, Wellington, so as to have an opportunity to consider the draft and to comment thereon to the Standards Council or to an appropriate committee of the Council in accordance with subsection (3) of section 8 of the Standards Act, 1941.

Notice to Persons Affected by Applications for Licences Under Part III of the Industrial Efficiency Act, 1936

Retail Sale and Distribution of Motor-spirit

C. E. Roscoe, corner Palmers Road and proposed Bowhill Road Extension, North Brighton, Christchurch, has applied for a licence to resell motor-spirit from one pump to be installed on garage premises at corner of Palmers Road and proposed Bowhill Road Extension, North Brighton, Christchurch.

F. Butler (Rotorua), Ltd., corner Amohau and Ranolf Streets, Rotorua, has applied for a licence to resell motor-spirit from two pumps to be installed on garage premises at the corner Amohau and Ranolf Streets, Rotorua.

Lovegrove Motors, 108A Grey Street, Hamilton East, has applied for a licence to resell motor-spirit from one pump to be installed on garage premises at 108A Grey Street, Hamilton East.

R. Hurst, Reliance Garage, Waimate, has applied for a licence to resell motor-spirit from one pump to be installed outside garage premises at Waimate.

Airwork (N.Z.), Ltd., Harewood Aerodrome, Christchurch, has applied for a licence to resell motor-spirit from one pump to be installed at Harewood Aerodrome, Christchurch.

A. R. W. Cundy, Tairua, via Waihi, has applied for a licence to resell motor-spirit from one pump to be installed at Motor Camp, Tairua, via Waihi.

Applicants and other persons considering themselves to be materially affected by the decisions of the Bureau of Industry on these applications should, not later than 9th June, 1949, submit any written evidence and representations they may desire to tender. Price Order No. 1006 (Imported Goods—Electrical)

PURSUANT to the Control of Prices Act, 1947, the Price Tribunal, acting with the authority of the Minister of Industries and Commerce, doth hereby make the following Price Order:—

  1. This Order may be cited as Price Order No. 1006.

  2. This Order shall come into force on the 13th day of June, 1949.

  3. (1) This Order applies with respect to any goods of the kind specified in the Schedule hereto that have been or may hereafter be imported into New Zealand and in respect of which—

(a) Price Order No. 1005* (as from time to time amended) relates; or

(b) An approval under section 16 of the Control of Prices Act, 1947, authorizing a selling-price has been given and is for the time being in force.

(2) Where the said Price Order provides that the selling-price of any goods to which this Order applies shall be calculated by the addition of a specified amount or a specified percentage (either with or without any other amount) to the cost price of the goods, that cost price shall be calculated as if New Zealand currency had at all times been at parity with sterling, and the said Price Order shall be read and construed accordingly.

(3) Where the importer of any goods to which this Order applies and in respect of which an approval under section 16 of the Control of Prices Act, 1947, authorizing a selling-price has been given and is for the time being in force, has paid or is liable to pay for the goods at a price calculated on the basis of the rate of exchange between New Zealand currency and sterling ruling immediately prior to the 18th day of August, 1948, the price authorized by any such approval relating to any such goods shall be reduced by an amount equal to the amount by which the cost of those goods to the importer would have been reduced if New Zealand currency had at all times been at parity with sterling, and every such approval shall be read and construed accordingly.

Connectors (cord) .. All kinds, parallel, barrel type, &c.

Connectors .. Porcelain, bakelite, or black moulded. Line.

Cords .. For ceiling switches, all kinds.

Cutouts .. Thermal and refills for same, all kinds and makes.

Fans .. Desk type, not including commercial type for factories and shops.

Fuses .. Porcelain, 5 amp., 10 amp., and 15 amp. Range, screw type.

Heaters .. Forced convection type.

Insulating material .. All kinds, spaghetti tube, beads, washers, varnish, screw eyes, staples, &c.

Insulating tape .. All kinds, black adhesive, white linen, rubber, &c.

Junction boxes .. For use with T.R.S. cable.

Lamps .. Hand inspection, without bulbs.

Lampholders .. All kinds, bakelite, porcelain, or metal. With or without skirts or switches, such as cord grip, batten, screwed for conduit, Edison screw.

Light fittings .. All kinds such as clamp-on, bedside, standard, pendant, ceiling, &c., excluding miners’ lamps and light bulbs.

Switches .. All kinds, surface, flush, ceiling, cord, of bakelite, brass, porcelain, or plastic material.

Thermostats .. All makes and sizes.

Torches .. All types of hand flashlight.

Torch .. Bulbs.

Wires .. Earth and steel, any size coil.

Armature, all sizes.

Bell.

Flexible, heating, lighting, range, and fuse, all sizes.

Triple-braided aerial, all sizes.
