IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred upon me by Regulation 4 of the Maize Marketing Emergency Regulations 1944,* I, Edward Luttrell Cullen, Minister of Marketing, do hereby appoint Lawrence Joseph Nathan, Gisborne, as member representing the New Zealand Poultry Board established under the Poultry-runs Registration Act, 1933, vice Geoffrey Winchester Armstrong, Gisborne, resigned.

Election of Members of Dental Council of New Zealand

I, GEORGE WILLIAM LENTON HANLON, the Returning Officer appointed in terms of the Dental Regulations 1937, to hereby notify that the only registered dentists nominated by dentists whose registered addresses are in the North Island and South Island respectively were

North Island—Robert Eric Tamlyn Hewat,
South Island—Parke Zinzan Harris,

and I therefore declare the said Robert Eric Tamlyn Hewat and Parke Zinzan Harris to be elected for appointment as provided by the Dentists Act, 1936.

Notice Under the National Savings Act 1940, Section 4

Wellington, 29th April, 1949.

IN terms of section 4 of the National Savings Act, 1940, I, Walter Nash, Minister of Finance, hereby prescribe that the tenth investment period shall run from the 30th June, 1949, to the 30th June, 1950.

The rate of interest to be paid on investments made during such investment period shall be 3 per cent.

Moneys invested during such investment period by deposit in an investment account shall be repayable on the 30th day of June, 1952.

Provided that where interest is not withdrawn in terms of section 8 (2) of the said Act and is added to the principal moneys of the investor, such amount of interest together with interest thereon shall be repayable on the 30th day of June, 1950.

National savings bonds issued during such investment period shall be repayable five years after the date of issue thereof.

IN terms of section 5 of the National Savings Act, 1940, I, Walter Nash, Minister of Finance, hereby authorize the trustees of the undermentioned savings-banks (being savings-banks constituted under the Savings-banks Act, 1908), to receive investments by way of deposits in investment accounts under the National Savings Act, 1940, during the investment period expiring on the 30th June, 1950 :—
