At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 30th day of March, 1949

PURSUANT to subsection three of section one hundred and four of the Rating Act, 1925, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby vary the Order in Council made on the ninth day of June, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-eight, and published in the Gazette on the twenty-first day of June, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-eight, at page 2050, and affecting Lot 39A 1, Parish of Matata, and other blocks, by excluding therefrom the land described in the Schedule hereto.

Appointment of Warden Under Mining Act, 1926

IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred upon me by section nine of the Mining Act, 1926, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby appoint

Henry James Thompson, Esquire,

to be a Warden, to hold and exercise the duties of such office under and subject to the provisions of the said Act, during pleasure, on and from the first day of April, one thousand nine hundred and forty-nine.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 31st day of March, 1949.

Appointment of Warden Under Mining Act, 1926

IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred upon me by section nine of the Mining Act, 1926, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby appoint

John Gray Warrington, Esquire,

to be a Warden, to hold and exercise the duties of such office under and subject to the provisions of the said Act, during pleasure, on and from the thirty-first day of March, one thousand nine hundred and forty-nine.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General this 31st day of March, 1949.

Vesting the Control of Scenic Reserves in the Taumarunui Borough Council

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by section thirteen of the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908 (hereinafter referred to as the said Act), His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand doth hereby vest the control of the scenic reserves described in the Schedule hereto (being lands reserved under the said Act) in the Taumarunui Borough Council, subject to the conditions hereinafter contained, that is to say :—

  1. The period for which the control of the reserves is hereby vested shall be three years from the date hereof, unless the reservation is previously altered or revoked under the said Act.

  2. The said Council shall prepare a report each year ending on the thirty-first day of March, together with a statement of receipts and expenditure in connection with the said reserves. Such report and statement shall be sent to the Minister charged with the administration of the said Act as soon as possible after the close of the year.

  3. The said Council shall control the said reserves in accordance with the provisions of the said Act and of the regulations made thereunder.

SCHEDULE

WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT

ALL that area containing by admeasurement 24 acres 2 roods 30 perches, more or less, being Lot A, Block I, Hunua Survey District. As the same is delineated on a plan marked L. and S. 1/440, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon coloured red.

Also all that area containing by admeasurement 3 acres 0 roods 25 perches, more or less, being Lot B, Block I, Hunua Survey District.

Also all that area containing by admeasurement 1 acre 0 roods 21 perches, more or less, being Lot D, Block I, Hunua Survey District. As the same are delineated on the plan marked 270/20R, deposited in the office of the Chief Surveyor at Wellington, and thereon coloured red.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 8th day of April, 1949.

Lands Permanently Reserved in the North Auckland, Hawkes Bay, Wellington, Westland, and Otago Land Districts

WHEREAS by the three-hundred-and-fifty-ninth section of the Land Act, 1924, it is enacted that the Governor-General may from time to time set apart temporarily as reserves, notwithstanding that the same may be then held under pastoral licence, any Crown lands which in his opinion are required for any of the purposes in the said section mentioned :

And whereas by the three-hundred-and-sixtieth section of the said Act it is provided that land temporarily reserved under the said three-hundred-and-fifty-ninth section may, at the expiration of one month, but not later than six months, after the publication in the Gazette of notice of such temporary reservation, be permanently reserved, and that notice of such permanent reservation shall be published in the Gazette :

And whereas the lands described in the Schedule hereto were by the Warrant dated the twenty-eighth day of February, one thousand nine hundred and forty-nine, and published in the Gazette of the third day of March of that year, temporarily reserved under the authority of the said Act for the purposes in the Schedule of the said Warrant specified at the end of the respective descriptions of the lands so intended to be temporarily reserved :

Now, therefore, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the said Act, do hereby permanently reserve the lands described in the Schedule hereto for the purposes in the said Schedule specified at the end of the respective descriptions of the lands so intended to be permanently reserved for which purposes the said lands were so temporarily reserved as aforesaid.

NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT

ALLOTMENT 467, Parish of Waipareira, situated in Block I, Titirangi Survey District : Area 3 acres and 15·8 perches, more or less. (North Auckland plan S.O. 34887.) (Site for County buildings.)
