Provisional State Forest Set Apart as a Permanent State Forest

A PROCLAMATION

BY virtue and in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by section eighteen of the Forests Act, 1921-22, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby set apart the provisional State forest described in the Schedule hereto as a permanent State forest.

SCHEDULE

SOUTHLAND LAND DISTRICT.—SOUTHLAND CONSERVANCY

ALL that area in the Southland Land District, Southland County, containing by admeasurement 640 acres, more or less, situated in Block LIII, Hokonui Survey District, and bounded generally as follows : Towards the north-west by Sections 432 and 709, Block LIII aforesaid, the abutment of a public road and Section 652, Block LIII aforesaid; towards the north-east by Section 431, Block LIII aforesaid; towards the east by the abutment of a public road and Sections 661 and 890, Block LIII aforesaid; towards the south-east by a public road; and towards the north-west, south-west, and south-east by Section 364, Block LIII aforesaid. As the same is more particularly delineated on plan 202/2, deposited in the Head Office of the State Forest Service at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the Seal of that Dominion, this 31st day of March, 1949.

Proclaiming Road-lines Laid Out in Block IV, Maketu, Block I, Otutara, Block VI, Te Tumu, and Block I, Waihi South Survey Districts, Auckland Land District, to be Public Roads

A PROCLAMATION

WHEREAS the lands described in the First Schedule hereto were, by orders of the Maori Land Court made on the eighteenth day of February, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-three, duly laid out as road-lines in pursuance of sections one hundred and sixty-two and four hundred and seventy-seven of the Maori Land Act, 1931:

And whereas the lands described in the Second Schedule hereto were, by an order of the Maori Land Court made on the twelfth day of December, one thousand nine hundred and forty-six, duly laid out as road-lines in pursuance of section four hundred and seventy-nine of the Maori Land Act, 1931:

And whereas the said Court is of the opinion that it is in the public interest that the said road-lines should be proclaimed as public roads, and notifications to that effect have been forwarded to the Minister of Lands in terms of section four hundred and eighty-six of the Maori Land Act, 1931:

And whereas one month's notice in writing of the intention to proclaim the said road-lines as public roads has been given by the Surveyor-General to the local authority of the district concerned, in terms of subsection two of section four hundred and eighty-seven of the Maori Land Act, 1931:

And whereas it is now expedient that the said road-lines should be proclaimed as public roads:

Now, therefore, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by section four hundred and eighty-seven of the Maori Land Act, 1931, do hereby proclaim as public roads the road-lines described in the First and Second Schedules hereto.

In the Auckland Land District; as the same are more particularly delineated on the plans marked L. and S. 16/2882A and 16/2882B, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, under No. 3024, and thereon coloured as above mentioned.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the Seal of that Dominion, this 5th day of April, 1949.

Road Traversing Maori Land Proclaimed as a Public Road in Block XII, Waikouaiti Survey District, Otago Land District

A PROCLAMATION

WHEREAS the road described in the Schedule hereto traverses Maori land:

And whereas the Maori Land Court, by an order made on the thirteenth day of July, one thousand nine hundred and forty-eight, and issued pursuant to section four hundred and eighty-four of the Maori Land Act, 1931, ordered and declared the said road to be a public road:

And whereas the said Court is of the opinion that it is in the public interest that the said road should be proclaimed as a public road, and a notification to that effect has been forwarded to the Minister of Lands in terms of section four hundred and eighty-six of the Maori Land Act, 1931:

And whereas it is now expedient that the said road should be proclaimed as a public road:

Now, therefore, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by section four hundred and eighty-seven of the Maori Land Act, 1931, do hereby proclaim as a public road the road described in the Schedule hereto.

PURSUANT to the Public Works Act, 1928, and the Electric-power Boards Act, 1925, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby amend, as set forth in the Schedule hereto, the Order in Council dated the tenth day of November, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-four, and published in the Gazette on the thirteenth day of the same month, authorizing the Otago Electric-power Board to use electric lines within the Otago Electric-power District and the outer area of such district.
