Price Order No. 990 (Amending Price Order No. 128) (Eggs)

PURSUANT to the Control of Prices Act, 1947, the Price Tribunal, acting with the authority of the Minister of Industries and Commerce, doth hereby make the following amending Price Order :—

  1. This Order may be cited as Price Order No. 990, and shall be read together with and deemed part of Price Order No. 128* (hereinafter referred to as the principal Order).
  2. This Order shall come into force on the 11th day of April, 1949.
  3. The Second and Third Schedules to the principal Order, as set out in Price Order No. 985†, are hereby revoked, and the following Schedules substituted therefor respectively :—

  1. (1) Price Order No. 985† is hereby revoked.
    (2) The revocation of the said Order shall not affect the liability of any person for any offence in relation thereto committed before the coming into force of this Order.

Price Order No. 992 (Amendment No. 2 of Price Order No. 932)
Hardware (Crockery and Glassware)

PURSUANT to the Control of Prices Act, 1947, the Price Tribunal, acting with the authority of the Minister of Industries and Commerce, doth hereby make the following amending Price Order :—

  1. This Order may be cited as Price Order No. 992, and shall be read together with and deemed part of Price Order No. 932* (hereinafter referred to as the principal Order).
  2. This Order shall come into force on the 11th day of April, 1949.
  3. The Schedule to the principal Order is hereby amended as follows :—
    (a) By inserting after the words “All rubber, wrapped” where they appear under the heading “Hose” the word “one,”.
    (b) By adding after the word “galvanized” where it appears under the heading “Screws” the words “(includes japanned and nickel plated)”.
    (c) By omitting the words “All adjustable, aluminium, Rabones, No. 101, 113, 114, or similar” where they appear under the heading “Levels” and substituting the words “Aluminium adjustable (all makes) and Rabones No. 101, 113, 114, or similar”.
    (d) By inserting after the word “pincers” where it appears in reference to plyers the words “fencing plyers,”.
    (e) By inserting after the word “Tenon” where it first appears the words “and back”.
    (f) By inserting after the word “drain” where it appears in reference to drags the words “and manure”.
  4. The Schedule to Price Order No. 966† amending the principal Order is hereby amended as follows :—
    (a) By omitting from the third column the sign “ . . ” wherever it appears and substituting in each case an asterisk.
    (b) By adding after the heading “Maximum prices of goods to which this Order applies” the words “(Where an asterisk is shown in Column 3 the maximum price shall be the retail selling-price less 7½ per cent. Where a figure is shown the maximum price shall be the prevailing wholesale price increased by a percentage equal to that figure.)”

Price Order No. 991 (Imported Goods)

PURSUANT to the Control of Prices Act, 1947, the Price Tribunal, acting with the authority of the Minister of Industries and Commerce, doth hereby make the following Price Order :—

  1. This Order may be cited as Price Order No. 991.
  2. This Order shall come into force on the 1st day of May, 1949.
  3. (1) This Order applies with respect to—
    (a) Any goods that have been or may hereafter be imported into New Zealand and to which Price Order No. 920* (as from time to time amended) relates :
    (b) Any wines, spirits, liqueurs, or other alcoholic beverages that have been or may hereafter be imported into New Zealand and in respect of which an approval under section 16 of the Control of Prices Act, 1947, authorizing a selling-price has been given.
    (2) Where the said Price Order provides that the selling-price of any goods to which this Order applies shall be calculated by the addition of a specified amount or a specified percentage (either with or without any other amount) to the cost price of the goods, that cost price shall be calculated as if New Zealand currency had at all times been at parity with sterling, and the said Price Order shall be read and construed accordingly.
    (3) Where the importer of any goods specified in paragraph (b) of subclause (1) hereof has paid or is liable to pay for the goods at a price calculated on the basis of the rate of exchange between New Zealand currency and sterling ruling immediately prior to the 18th day of August, 1948, the price authorized by any approval given under section 16 of the Control of Prices Act, 1947, relating to any such goods shall be reduced by an amount equal to the amount by which the cost of those goods to the importer would have been reduced if New Zealand currency had at all times been at parity with sterling, and every such approval shall be read and construed accordingly.
