NORTH CANTERBURY ELECTRIC-POWER BOARD

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, and all other powers enabling it thereto, the North Canterbury Electric-power Board hereby resolves as follows:—

“That, for the purpose of providing the interest, repayment of principal, and other charges on a loan of £50,000, authorized to be raised by the North Canterbury Electric-power Board under the provisions of section 15 of the Finance Act No. 2, 1936, for the purpose of providing additional moneys for the extension of the electrical reticulation system in those portions of the Rangiora, Kowai, Eyre, Oxford, Ashley, Waipara, Cheviot, and Amuri Counties within the Board’s district, the North Canterbury Electric-power Board makes and levies a special rate of 1/12d. in the pound on the capital value of all rateable property in the special rating area cited above; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of the said loan, and be payable yearly on the 30th day of March in each and every year during the currency of the said loan, being a period of 25 years or until the loan is fully paid off.”

I, Henry Thompson Metherell, Chairman of the North Canterbury Electric-power Board, do hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was duly passed at a meeting of the North Canterbury Electric-power Board held in Rangiora, on the 15th day of March, 1949.

RAGLAN COUNTY COUNCIL

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LANDS FOR ROADS AND CLOSE PORTIONS OF ROADS

In the matter of the Public Works Act, 1928, and the Counties Act, 1920.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Raglan County Council proposes, under the provisions of the above-mentioned Acts to execute a certain public work—namely, altering the course of the road—and for the purpose of such public work the various lands described in the First Schedule hereto are required to be taken; and further, that it is proposed to close the various portions of road described in the Second Schedule hereto.

Notice is further given that plans of the lands so required to be taken for roads and the portions of road proposed to be closed are deposited in the public offices of the Clerk to the said Council at Ngaruawahia, and at the offices of Messrs. Tompkins and Wake, Solicitors, Wesley Chambers, Victoria Street, Hamilton, and are open for inspection by all persons during ordinary office hours. All persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of the said lands or by the closing of the said roads who have any well-grounded objection to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of the said lands or to the closing of the said roads must state their objections in writing within forty (40) days from the first publication of this notice, that is on or before the 26th day of April, 1949, to the Raglan County Council at Council Chambers, Waingaro Road, Ngaruawahia.

DISSOLUTION OF PARTNERSHIP

NOTICE is hereby given that the partnership hitherto existing between FRANK DOUGLAS BARRON and JACK LESLIE DANCE, both of Millers Flat, Seed Farmers, trading as “Barron and Dance,” in the business of Seed Farmers is dissolved by mutual consent as from the 30th day of November, 1948.

The business will be carried on in future by the said JACK LESLIE DANCE and REGINALD HALFORD DANCE under the name of “Barron and Dance.”

HUTT VALLEY ELECTRIC-POWER BOARD

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Hutt Valley Electric-power Board hereby resolves as follows:—

“That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £100,000 (known as Loan No. 6 (1948) of £100,000), authorized to be raised by the Hutt Valley Electric-power Board under the above-mentioned Act to provide additional moneys for the further reticulation of the Hutt Valley Electric-power Board’s district, the said Hutt Valley Electric-power Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of three-tenths of a penny (³⁄₁₀d.) in the pound on the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property of the Hutt Valley Electric power District; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 31st day of March in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty-five (25) years or until the loan is fully paid off.

The foregoing resolution was passed on the 17th day of March, 1949.

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND FOR A PUBLIC ROAD

In the matter of the Counties Act, 1920, and in the matter of the Public Works Act, 1928.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Featherston County Council proposes, under the provisions of the above-mentioned Acts, to execute a certain public work—namely, for the purposes of a public road—and for the purposes of such public work the lands described in the Schedule hereto are required to be taken; and notice is hereby further given that a plan of the lands so required to be taken is deposited in the public office of the Clerk of the said Council, situate at Kitchener Street, Martinborough, and is open for inspection without fee by all persons during ordinary office hours.

All persons affected by the execution of the said public work, or by the taking of such lands, who have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work, or to the taking of the said lands, must state their objections in writing and send the same within forty days from the first publication of this notice to the County Clerk at the Council Chambers, Kitchener Street, Martinborough.
