of Small Grazing-runs 193 and 194 and Run 118 to Mitre Peak in
Block IX, Tapuaenuku Survey District; thence generally in a
south-westerly direction by the northern boundary of part Run 120
(Muller Run) to its junction with the south-western boundary of
the Muller Freehold at the southern boundary of Section 69, Fair-
field Run, Awatere, in Block I, Tone Survey District; thence
north-westerly by the south-western boundary of the Muller Freehold
to the Awatere River; thence northerly across the Awatere River
to the south-western corner of Section 13, Langridge Run, Awatere,
in Block XXII, Molesworth Survey District, and by the western
boundary of the said Section 13 and the western and north-western
boundaries of Run 117 (Langridge Run) to the point of commence-
ment.

ORDER IN COUNCIL
At the Government House at Wellington, this 9th day of
March, 1949
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
WHEREAS by section thirty-one of the Rabbit Nuisance Act,
1928, it is enacted that the Governor-General, at the request
of the Board of any rabbit district, may, by Order in Council
alter and redefine the boundaries of its district:
And whereas the district known as the Waihopai Rabbit
District has been constituted under and for the purposes of the
said Act:
And whereas the Board of the said district has, pursuant to the
said section thirty-one of the said Act, requested that the boundaries
of its district be altered and redefined by excluding an area
therefrom:
And whereas it is deemed expedient to alter and redefine the
boundaries of the said district accordingly:
Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and
authorities conferred upon him by the said Act, His Excellency
the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent
of the Executive Council, doth hereby—
(1) Alter and redefine the boundaries of the said district so
constituted as aforesaid;
(2) Declare that the boundaries of the said district shall be those
set forth in the Schedule hereto; and, further,
(3) Declare that this Order in Council shall come into force
on the first day of April, one thousand nine hundred
and forty-nine.
SCHEDULE
BOUNDARIES OF THE WAIHOPAI RABBIT DISTRICT
ALL that area of land situated in the Marlborough Land District,
containing approximately 90,700 acres, and bounded as follows:
Commencing at a point on the south bank of the Wairau River
at the north-east corner of Section 13s, Erina Settlement, Block II,
Avon Survey District; thence southerly by the eastern boundary
of Erina Settlement and by the Marchburn River and Boundary
Creek to the junction of the creek with a public road in Block XVI,
Avon Survey District; thence westerly by the southern side of
the aforesaid road and the western boundary of the land shown on
D.P. 1080 to the Waihopai River, and across that river; thence
westerly by the southern bank of the aforesaid Waihopai River
to the westernmost corner of the land shown on D.P. 1081; thence
generally easterly by the southern and eastern boundaries of the land
shown on D.P. 1081 to the Waihopai River, and across that river and
by the northern bank of the aforesaid Waihopai River to a point
opposite the junction of that river and the Musgrave Brook; thence
southerly across the Waihopai River and by the western boundaries
of Lots 1, 5, and 8, D.P. 661, and the western and southern boundaries
of Lot 9, D.P. 662, to the Avon River at the south-eastern corner
of Lot 9 aforesaid in Block V, Hodder Survey District; thence
southerly by the Avon River to the boundary between Lots 12B and
11, D.P. 664, and by that boundary to a public road, and by a right
line across that road and by the western and southern boundary
of Lot 12A, D.P. 664, to the north-eastern corner of Lot 13B, D.P. 664,
and by the eastern boundary of Lot 13B aforesaid to the boundary
between Run 109 and Run 109A at a point known as Judy in Block
X, Hodder Survey District; thence easterly and northerly by the
southern and south-eastern boundaries of Run 109 to the boundary
between Run 109 and Run 110 in Block VI, Hodder Survey District;
thence northerly along that boundary to its junction with Lot 1,
D.P. 740, and by the south-eastern boundary of Lot 1 aforesaid
to peg VII, D.P. 740, in Block XXIV, Avon Survey District; thence
easterly by a right line from the said peg VII to the westernmost
corner of Section 86, Blairich Run, Awatere Registration District,
in Block XXV, Avon Survey District; thence northerly by the
eastern boundary of Run 110 and the western bank of the Omaka
River to the Dog Point Road in Block XVI, Onamalutu Survey
District; thence westerly by the southern side of the Dog Point
Road to the Renwick-Summerlands Main Highway, and across
that highway; thence northerly by the western side of the aforesaid
highway to the Renwick-Branch Main Highway, and across that
highway; thence easterly by the northern side of the aforesaid
Renwick-Branch Main Highway to the eastern corner of Part 2
of Section 160, Omaka; thence northerly by the eastern boundaries
of Lots Part 2 and 3 of 160, Omaka; thence easterly by the southern
boundary of Lot 61 of Section 161, Omaka; thence northerly by
the eastern boundaries of Lots 61, 57, 56, 51, and 50 of Section 161,
Omaka; thence in a westerly direction by the northern boundary
of the said Lot 50, southerly by the eastern boundary of Lot 12
of Section 160, Omaka; thence westerly by the southern boundaries
of the said Lot 12 and Lot 11 of Section 160, Omaka, to a public
road; thence northerly along that road to the south-western corner
of Lot 82 of Section 36, Block I, Waihopai; thence easterly along
the southern boundaries of Lots 82 and 76; thence along the eastern
and northern boundaries of the said Lot 76 and in a northerly
direction along the western boundaries of Lots 77, 78, and 79 of
Section 36, Block I, Waihopai; thence easterly by the northern
boundary of the said Lot 79 to the Blenheim-Nelson Main Highway;
thence northerly by the western side of that highway to the Wairau
Bridge; thence westerly along a public road fronting Sections 4
and 5, Block IX, Cloudy Bay Survey District, and Section 9A,
Block XVI, Onamalutu Survey District, to the Wairau River;
thence westerly along the southern bank of the said Wairau River
to the point of commencement.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
PURSUANT to the Rabbit Nuisance Act, 1928, and to section
twenty-nine of the Rabbit Nuisance Amendment Act, 1947,
His Excellency the Governor-General, at the request of the Minister
of Agriculture, made on the recommendation of the Rabbit Destruc-
tion Council, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the
Executive Council, doth hereby constitute and declare the area of
land, the boundaries of which are described in the Schedule hereto,
being an area to which subsection one of section thirty of the Rabbit
Nuisance Act, 1928, applies, a rabbit district, and doth appoint
that the name of the said rabbit district shall be the Miller's Flat
Rabbit District, and doth order that the basis on which the Rabbit
Board to be established for the said district shall first levy its general
rate shall be the acreage of land occupied by the ratepayer.
SCHEDULE
DESCRIPTION OF BOUNDARIES OF THE MILLER'S FLAT RABBIT
DISTRICT
All that area containing approximately 35,000 acres, more or less,
situated in Teviot, Benger, and Beaumont Survey Districts, bounded
as follows: Commencing at the junction of Anderson's Little Creek
with the Clutha River; thence generally westerly along Anderson's
Creek and the Roxburgh–Miller's Flat Main Highway, and northerly
along the western side of Smith's Road, being also the boundary of
the Roxburgh East Rabbit District, as defined by New Zealand
Gazette, 1940, No. 93, page 2270, to the junction of Smith and Wright
Roads; thence generally north-easterly and south-easterly along
Sanders Road on the southern boundaries of Sections 27s, 28s, 29s,
22s, and 21s, Teviot Settlement, to the boundary between Block VI
and Block XXIII, Teviot Survey District; thence south-easterly
along the south-western boundaries of Block XXIII, Teviot Survey
District, and Block XVI, Benger Survey District, to the south-
eastern corner of Section 1, Block XI, Benger Survey District;
thence south-easterly by a straight line to Trig. EE, Benger Survey
District; thence due south to a stream, and south-easterly along
that stream to its junction with Minzion Burn; thence south-westerly
down the centre of Minzion Burn to a point in line with the north-
eastern boundary of Section 7, Block XII, Benger Survey District;
thence to and along the north-eastern boundary of Section 7 aforesaid
to Trig. AA, Benger Survey District; thence generally south-easterly
along Bennet Road and Beaumont Station Road to the junction of
Beaumont Station Road with the ridge road through Run 658;
thence southerly along that road past Trig. N to a point due north of
the junction of Fruid Burn with Talla Burn; thence due south to the
junction of Fruid and Talla Burns; thence generally south-westerly
down the centre of Talla Burn to its junction with the Clutha River;
thence north-westerly along the north-eastern bank of the Clutha
River to the point of commencement.
