Constitution of Rural Fire District

ORDER IN COUNCIL

At the Government House at Wellington, this 16th day of February, 1949

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to the Forest and Rural Fires Act, 1947, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby constitute and declare the area described in the Schedule hereto to be a rural fire district, to be known as the “Trounson Kauri Park Rural Fire District”; and doth hereby specify the trees and other plants on Trounson Kauri Park in the said area as the property for the protection of which the district is constituted; and doth hereby specify the period between the first day of October in any one year and the thirtieth day of April in the following year (both days inclusive) as a closed fire season in the said district; and doth hereby declare that this Order in Council shall come into force and that the Trounson Kauri Park Rural Fire District shall become a rural fire district on the day following publication of this Order in Council in the Gazette; and doth hereby prescribe that the said Trounson Kauri Park Rural Fire District shall be administered for the purposes of the said Act by the Commissioner of State Forests.

SCHEDULE

NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—AUCKLAND CONSERVANCY
Trounson Kauri Park Rural Fire District

ALL that area in the North Auckland Land District, Hobson County, containing approximately 4,450 acres, situated in Blocks IX and XIII, Tutamoe Survey District, and Blocks XI and XIII, Waipoua Survey District, and bounded generally as follows: Towards the east by the right bank of the Mangatu Stream; towards the south by part of Lot 12 on L.T. plan 3370, being part of Section 1, Block IX, Tutamoe Survey District; towards the east and north-east by the eastern side of the Hokianga–Opanake Road; towards the south-east by the crossing of the aforementioned road, by Section 30, Block XIII, Tutamoe Survey District, and by a right line across the Waima River to the middle-line of the Kaihu Valley Railway; towards the south and south-west by the middle-line of the aforesaid railway to the southern side of a road intersecting Section 1, Block XI, Waipoua Survey District; towards the south by the southern side of a road; towards the west by the crossing of a road, and by Lot 2 on L.T. plan 16536, being part of Section 2, Block XI, Waipoua Survey District; towards the north by Lot 2 on L.T. plan 11339, being part of Section 20, Block XI aforesaid, to and across the Kaihu Valley Railway; towards the east by the aforesaid railway to a point in line with the southern boundary of Section 18, Block XI, Waipoua Survey District; thence by a right line due east to the left bank of the Waima River, and by that river to the northern side of the Donnelly’s–Kaikohe Main Highway; towards the north by the northern sides of the aforesaid main highway and the Kauri Park Road; towards the north-west by the north-western sides of the Donnelly’s–Mangatu Road and McLean’s Road to a stream passing through Section 11, Block XI, Waipoua Survey District; towards the north-east by the aforesaid stream; towards the east and north by Lot 2 on L.T. plan 1459, being part Section 1, Block IX, Tutamoe Survey District; and again towards the north by Lot 3 on L.T. plan 1459 aforesaid. As the same is more particularly delineated on plan No. 7/37, deposited in the Head Office of the State Forest Service at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.
