Appointing the Transport Charges Committee

PURSUANT to section twelve of the Transport Law Amendment Act, 1948, the Minister of Transport doth hereby appoint the persons described in the Schedule hereto to be the Chairman and members respectively of the Transport Charges Committee for a term expiring on the 31st day of December, 1949.

Member of New Zealand Geographic Board Appointed

WHEREAS, in pursuance of the provisions of section 3 (2) (e) of the New Zealand Geographic Board Act, 1946, His Excellency the Governor-General did on the 1st day of April, 1947, appoint Joseph William Allan Heenan, Esquire, C.B.E., LL.B., to be a member of the New Zealand Geographic Board established in pursuance of the said Act :

And whereas the said Joseph William Allan Heenan has resigned from such office as from the 31st day of December, 1948 :

Now, therefore, in pursuance of the provisions of section 3 (4) of the said Act, His Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to appoint

Arthur Grant Harper, Esquire,

to be a member of the New Zealand Geographic Board established under the above Act for the balance of the term of three years for which the said Joseph William Allan Heenan was previously appointed.

Commissioner of the Supreme Court Appointed

HERBERT REGINALD PALSER, Esquire, of Sydney, a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of the State of New South Wales, has this day been appointed by the Right Honourable Sir Humphrey Francis O'Leary, K.C.M.G., Chief Justice of New Zealand, a Commissioner of the Supreme Court of New Zealand in New South Wales under the 47th section of the Judicature Act, 1908, for the purpose of administering and taking all such oaths, affidavits, and affirmations as in the said section mentioned.
