CHRISTCHURCH CITY COUNCIL
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
Waterworks Loan, £151,000
THE following resolution was duly passed at a meeting of the Christchurch City Council held on the 8th day of December, 1948:
“In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Christchurch City Council hereby resolves as follows:—
“That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of one hundred and fifty-one thousand pounds (£151,000), authorized to be raised by the Christchurch City Council under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of providing waterworks for the purpose of improving the water-supply of the City of Christchurch, the said Christchurch City Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of two hundred and nineteen thousand nine hundred and ninety-nine one million two hundred and fifty thousandths of a penny (£0·00099333) in the pound (20·00099333) on the rateable property comprised within the City of Christchurch; such special rate to be an annually recurring rate and to be payable yearly on the 1st day of April in each and every year during the currency of the loan, being a period of thirty (30) years or until the loan is fully paid off.”

NAPIER BOROUGH COUNCIL
NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND
NOTICE is hereby given that the Napier Borough Council proposes to execute a certain public work—namely, to establish a quarry—and for the purpose of such public work the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken; And notice is hereby further given that a plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the public office of the Clerk to the said Council situate in Tennyson Street, Napier, and is open for inspection (without fee) by all persons during ordinary office hours.
All persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of such land who have any well-grounded objection to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of the said land must state their objections in writing, and send the same, within forty (40) days from the first publication of this notice, to the Town Clerk at his office aforesaid.
THE SCHEDULE
Two acres two roods (2 acres 2 roods), being part Lot 1 on Deeds Plan 325, part of Blocks 2, 3, and 55, Puketapu Crown Grant District, situate in Block VII, Heretaunga Survey District, the said piece of land being situate in the County of Hawke’s Bay in the Land Registration District and Land District of Hawke’s Bay; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan deposited for inspection as aforesaid, and thereon edged blue.

NOTICE is hereby given that a petition for winding up of the above-named company by the Supreme Court was on the 8th day of December, 1948, presented to the said Court by Leonard Burton Nicholls, of Rotorua, Company-manager, and that the said petition is directed to be heard before the Court sitting at the Supreme Court House at Hamilton on Tuesday, the 1st day of February, 1949, at 10.30 o’clock in the forenoon; and any creditor or contributory of the said company desirous of supporting or opposing the making of an Order on the said petition may appear at the time of hearing in person or by his counsel for that purpose; and a copy of the petition will be furnished any creditor or contributory of the said company requiring the same by the undersigned on payment of the regulated charge for the same.

PURSUANT to section 323 of the Companies Act, 1933, notice is hereby given that at an extraordinary general meeting of the above-named company, duly convened and held on the 8th day of December, 1948, the following resolution was duly passed:—
“1. That the company be wound up voluntarily;
“2. That Mr. H. J. Wicks, of Greymouth, be, and he is hereby appointed liquidator of the company.”

COOK COUNTY COUNCIL
NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND
In the matter of the Public Works Act, 1928, and in the matter of the Counties Act, 1920.
NOTICE is hereby given that the Cook County Council, pursuant to section 192 of the Counties Act, 1920, proposes to execute a public work—namely, to acquire the building of a dwellinghouse erected on the land described in the Schedule hereto together with the said land, for the purpose of occupation by a worker employed in the Cook County buildings suitable for workers’ dwellings on the said land and on the land adjacent thereto, and that for such purposes the said land is required to be taken under the Public Works Act, 1928, and that such land is the whole of the land in certificate of title, Vol. 55, folio 124 (Gisborne Registry), and that the said title can be inspected at the offices of the District Land Registrar, Gisborne, during ordinary office hours.
All persons affected by the execution of such public work or by the taking of such land and who have well-grounded objections to the execution of such work or to the taking of such land should send such objections in writing to the County Clerk, Cook County Council, Childers Road, Gisborne, within forty days of the first publication of this notice.
