Schedule hereto (being land reserved under the said Act), in the Collingwood County Council, subject to the conditions hereinafter contained, that is to say :—

  1. The period for which the control of the reserve is hereby vested shall be five years from the date hereof, unless the reservation is previously altered or revoked under the said Act.

  2. The said Council shall prepare a report each year ending on the thirty-first day of March, together with a statement of receipts and expenditure in connection with the said reserve. Such report and statement shall be sent to the Minister charged with the administration of the said Act as soon as possible after the close of the year.

  3. The said Council shall control the said reserve in accordance with the provisions of the said Act and of the regulations made thereunder.

SECTION 3, Block I, Pakawan Survey District: Area, 56 acres 1 rood 16 perches, more or less.

Vesting the Control of a Scenic Reserve in the Whangarei Borough Council

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by section thirteen of the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908 (hereinafter referred to as the said Act), His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand doth hereby vest the control of the scenic reserve described in the Schedule hereto (being land reserved under the said Act) in the Whangarei Borough Council, subject to the conditions hereinafter contained, that is to say :—

NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—CORONATION SCENIC RESERVE

ALL that area in the Whangarei County and Whangarei Borough, situated in Block XII, Purna Survey District, containing by admeasurement 117 acres 1 rood 39 perches, more or less, being part Horahora No. 2 Block, part Te Wharowharo No. 1 Block, and Kirikiri No. 5 Block, and bounded as follows: Towards the north generally by Allotment S. 77, Whangarei Parish, 3138·0 links; towards the north-east generally by Lot 3 on D.P. 13936, Lot 3 on D.P. 19974, and Lot 167 on D.P. 597, all being subdivisions of part Allotment 1, Parish of Whangarei, 1551·9 and 783·3 links; towards the south-east generally by Valley Road, 1032·5, 387·2, 357·5, 429·0, 436·7, 411·6, and 100·0 links, Lot 92 on D.P. 2605, being a subdivision of part Te Wharowharo No. 2 Block, 54·47 links, and Lots 4, 3, 2, and 1 on D.P. 16579, being a subdivision of part Te Wharowharo No. 2 Block aforesaid, 146·78 and 1562·3 links; towards the west generally by part Horahora No. 2 Block, bearing 353° 09′ 57″, distance 4340·3 links: be all the aforesaid measurements a little more or less. As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 4/452, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon edged red. Vesting the Control of a Scenic Reserve in the Mount Balloon Hut Scenic Board

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by section thirteen of the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, doth hereby vest the control of the reserve described in the Schedule hereto (being land reserved under the said Act) for the period of five years from the date hereof (unless previously altered or revoked under the said Act) in the undermentioned persons, namely :—

Commissioner of Crown Lands for the Nelson Land District, ex officio,

The Conservator of Forests for the Nelson Conservancy, ex officio,

The member of the Takaka County Council representing the Anatoki Riding, ex officio,

Charles Walter Cannington,

Claude Page Reilly,

David Arthur MacMorland,

Arthur Augustus Newth,

John Morison Tait, and

Charles Idrys Kidson,

who are hereby constituted for that purpose a special Board by the name of the Mount Balloon Hut Scenic Board (herein referred to as “the Board”), in trust, for the preservation of scenery, and with the powers and subject to the conditions hereinafter contained, that is to say :—

  1. The first meeting of the Board shall be held on Wednesday, the twelfth day of January, one thousand nine hundred and forty-nine, at 7 o’clock p.m., in the Waimea County Council Office, Trafalgar Street, Nelson, and thereafter the Board shall meet for the transaction of business at the time and place aforesaid, or at such other time or place as may from time to time be fixed by the Board.

  2. The Commissioner of Crown Lands shall be the Chairman of the Board. He may join in the discussion, and shall have an original as well as a casting vote.

  3. Special meetings may be convened by the Chairman, provided that two days’ notice of such meeting is given to each member, specifying the business to be transacted at such special meeting; and no other business than that so specified shall be transacted at such meeting.

  4. Any five members of the Board shall form a quorum. Any meeting may be adjourned from time to time.

  5. All questions shall be determined by the majority of votes of the members of the Board present at the meeting.

  6. If at any meeting the Chairman is not present at the time appointed for holding the same, the members present shall choose one of their number to be Chairman for such meeting.

  7. If, by resignation, death, incapacity, or otherwise, the seat of any member shall be or become vacant, or if any member absents himself, without reasonable cause, from three consecutive meetings of the Board, the Governor-General shall have power to appoint any other person to be a member of the Board in his stead.
