Pursuant to subsection one of section four of the Magistrates' Courts Act, 1947, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby appoint the cities, boroughs, and other places named in the Schedule hereto as cities, boroughs, and other places in which Magistrates' Courts may be held for the exercise of civil jurisdiction.

Discontinuing Sittings of Magistrates' Courts

Pursuant to the provisions of subsection one of section six of the Magistrates' Courts Act, 1928, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby direct that sittings of the Magistrates' Courts at the places named in the Schedule hereto, shall be discontinued as from the thirty-first day of December, one thousand nine hundred and forty-eight, and I hereby revoke all instruments or Warrants heretofore issued under the said subsection one of section six appointing any of the said places as places at which such Courts may be held.

Appointing the Transport Appeal Authority Under the Transport Licensing Act, 1931

In pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred on him by the Transport Licensing Act, 1931, and section eighty-two of the Statutes Amendment Act, 1941, His Excellency the Governor-General doth hereby appoint His Honour Judge Kendrick Gee Archer, of Wellington, to be the Transport Appeal Authority for a term commencing on the first day of January, one thousand nine hundred and forty-nine, and expiring on the thirty-first day of December, one thousand nine hundred and forty-nine.

As witness the hand of the Deputy of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 6th day of December, 1948.

Fixing Remuneration for Inspector for School of Anatomy, Dunedin

Whereas on the twenty-fourth day of November, one thousand nine hundred and forty-eight, Charles Harley, Inspector of Police at Dunedin, was appointed pursuant to section twenty-seven of the Medical Act, 1908, to be inspector for the School of Anatomy established at Dunedin:

Now, therefore, pursuant to section thirty of the said Act, I hereby direct that the said Charles Harley shall receive by way of remuneration, so long as he holds the said appointment, an allowance of £20 per annum payable by quarterly instalments on the last days of December, March, June, and September in each year, the first and, if necessary, the last instalment to be proportionate ones.

Authorizing Erection of a Public Hall on Okauia Domain, Auckland Land District

In pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred upon me by subsection one (d) of section fifty-two of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby authorize the Okauia Domain Board to erect a public hall on that portion of the Okauia Domain under its control described in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE
AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—OKAUIA DOMAIN
All that area in the County of Matamata, containing by admeasurement 1 acre and 11.5 perches, more or less, being part Section 1D, Block III, Tapapa Survey District. As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 1/1192A, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon edged red. (Auckland plan S.O. J6144.)

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 13th day of December, 1948.

Authorizing Erection of a Public Hall on Gimmerburn Domain, Otago Land District

In pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred upon me by subsection one (d) of section fifty-two of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby authorize the Gimmerburn Domain Board to erect a public hall on that portion of the Gimmerburn Domain under its control described in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE
OTAGO LAND DISTRICT.—GIMMERBURN DOMAIN
All that area containing by admeasurement 1 rood 5 perches, more or less, being part of Section 36, Block IV, Gimmerburn Survey District, bounded as follows: Commencing at a point on the south-western boundary 143 links from the north-western corner of said Section 36; thence towards the south-west by a public road, 152 links; towards the south-east by other part of Section 36, 230 links; and towards the north-east by said other part of Section 36, 85 links and 242 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 1/1191A, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon edged red.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 13th day of December, 1948.
